Not really. I just seek the middle ground between the hardcore "Make it exactly like WoW/FFXI/Rift" crowd and the ridiculous "This game is great, it just needs a few tweeks!" horde. The state of this game just baffles me completely. What gets me is that the people who defend this game find the silliest excuses to back up their arguments. For example: In another thread a person plays off the black shroud's design by saying "Have you been to a forest? It's full of trees! You don't see temples every 50 meters". Really guys?
I quit FFXI for this game because I thought "Wow, after 6 years of playing this game SE will finally make a brand new MMO with brand new everything woo 2010". Force myself to trudge through the shitswamp that is FFXIV for 3 months before deciding that masochism wasn't my thing and went back to an 8 year old game that is somehow still more advanced than one that was released in 2010 by the same company. I just don't get it. Again, I don't want XIV to be an FFXI clone, but I do want that feeling of "Wow I can't wait to level up and explore this world" that FFXI (and even Everquest) provided.
To be honest, as i was reading through the posts, you haven't really made that clear enough until now. =oNot really. Well then that's my mistake. I'm just trying to say that while I want the game to be unique and different, I absolutely cannot stand the direction it was going in. It feels like they made things different just for the sake of being different instead of actually being creative and putting thought into it. Kinda why I get uppity when people act like the the armory system, world design, and all that is fine the way it is.
Last time I'll say this. Development on their major changes started very late opposed to what MMOs usually do and start working on their major content in updates even before it's launch.
If you are expecting major changes quickly it's because you do not understand development and should go read a book, read a book, read a mother f@#$in' book.
So you get uppity when they have an opinion different from yours? Gotcha.Kinda why I get uppity when people act like the the armory system, world design, and all that is fine the way it is.
When it can possibly affect the future of this game, yes. PROBLEM?
Just because a few people with "unique" opinions are content with a bad game doesn't mean the majority has to suffer for it. But that's just me.
The only thing I absolutely disagree with you on is the armory system. I think it's great.Well then that's my mistake. Yes really you just made that plain. The problem with generalizing people and stuffing them in categories is that you don't see what's right in front of your face. The vast majority of people posting here regularly want the game to improve, we want it to see it grow and have fun with it. But we do not always agree on the same features to be implemented or improved. That doesn't make some of us stupid or blind. There are times I agree with the same posters I completely disagree with on other points. That's normal.
I would like to see this community work together not keeping to accuse and demoralize each other as this thread in my opinion does.
Anyway that's it for me on that. See you on other threads.
