theres a reason all other major MMO's host EU servers in Germany.... cause its slap bang in the middle of the EU so latency is generally best for everyone.

bassicaly it sucks but you have to get out of the AOE about 1-1.5 second before it actually hits or your going to die

Which "all other major MMOs" are in Germany? WOW's EU servers are largely in France for example though there are several server farms I believe, you get don't more 'major' than WOW. LOTOR when it was hosted in Europe was in England, not Germany. No idea where GW2 and Rift farms are, not aware either are in Germany though.

Playing on servers in the US in WOW, Rift and LOTRO is perfectly fine with 'ping' times of 150 or so as is XIV as far as I have seen so far .. "1-1.5 seconds" is not down to normal internet latency.
