Not a single NA/EU server taking new characters, this is insane.

Seems only JP servers are accepting new characters.

First we can't get in and sometimes we get a queue but most of the time it just tells you the world is full and wait for a spot to open and try again but it doesn't tell you when a spot is open so you just click over and over again and then when you do get in your queue is only like 14 people and you get straight it and pray that you don't "lose connection" and kicked right back out and you are back to square one.

Now if you can't get on you decide well let me try a different type of character on a different server but not a single server will let you make a new character, so again cannot play, this is ridiculous. I have been in some bad launches before but this one is by far the worst. I have seen frequent server crashes on different games but I can deal with that because I know the game is down and they will let us know when its back up but this game is up and you can play but this one is up and running and you can't log in. This game doesn't seem to even have a decent queue system that just puts us in a long line. We have to actively click over and over again and hope click on just the right time that you sneak in the queue they have essentially turned just logging into being a constant radio call in contest.

On top of that, sales have been halted on digital copies of the game until this all gets sorted, so now my GF who was planning on playing with me can't even get a copy of the game unless she tries to get a boxed one and neither of us like going with physical copies of games anymore.

While I get it, it still sucks for all the current and potential players.

Technically, the boxed copy are just the convenient factor for your to install without downloading, and the product key is pre-allocated rather than dynamic through digital download (for PS3/PSN). So if you're getting PS3 copy, it probably the quickest and easiest. And if you already have a FFXIV Service Account, and getting Windows boxed copy is easy as entering the provided key in Mog Stations and done...

I actually knew all this, the dilemma was not being able to get a digital copy since we don't like getting physical copies as they tend to just be clutter.
