So apparently free time is coming.Dear SE,
I tried to play this game during beta but was locked out after only 3 hours due to a 90K error followed by a 3102 error. It was beta so I didn't complain much. I had preordered the game before beta and after receiving confirmation from you and other SE staff that the issues had been resolved and I would be able to play in EA, I didn't cancel my preorder. However, EA came and I found that the 90K errors were still making characters unplayable, instances were broken so we could not progress the story line and the 3102 error had been replaced by the 10102 error that locked accounts out of the game. After numerous maintenance sessions, these issues were still not resolved so the solution to implement login limitations and character creation restrictions were implemented.
Due to these issues, a large number of people have not been able to login and play, create characters on servers with their friends or otherwise enjoy the game they paid for going on 6 days now. We have no date, other than early next week, for the installation of the upgrades that are supposed to fix these issues so you are essentially asking players to wait another 5 to 7 days for the resolution. Two weeks to wait for a playable game by all is far too long without addressing the impact this is having amongst your player base.
Many players are frustrated over the whack a mole login system that requires players to sit and spam the login button for hours at a time in the hopes of randomly hitting the queue or getting in. Many players are also frustrated because as they sit and play whack a mole for hours at a time, they are also seeing the 30 day subscription that came with the purchase of the game ticking away and you are asking them to give up another week of that time. Many players are frustrated because they were not able to roll characters on servers with their friends and once this is resolved are facing the choice of paying for a character transfer to re-unite with their friends or rolling new toons and having to start over again.
In short, if you are going to ask players to wait longer after already having waited too long, you need to give them a reason to want to wait. I like many others paid to play the game. We did not pay to wait. If you want us to wait and really want to reduce the frustrations of many players, tell us how you will address the impact that these issues have had on your player base. SE already made it clear they will not fix the queue system, which is something many players have been asking for. But will you at least try to address the other ways these issues are impacting many players? Will you extend the 30 day subscription offered with the purchase of the game or give free game time equivalent to what has been lost? Will you offer free character transfers once the upgrades are installed so people can re-unite with their friends?
