    So, I am pretty sure you are fine with them making it take 9, since you have hundreds of them from when they were easily obtained. How is that any fair? Go forth and dominate the market, crash the economy while you're at it
    My thought was they were trying to prevent people like me from overflowing the market with Darklight equivalent (or better) gear which is a very smart move. My guess is in time they will lower the costs.

    I have enough gil so I'm not bothering crafting things to sell. Instead I geared up people in my static.

    But you can go ahead and craft for yourself the all best gear because you got the stuff when it was easy to obtain, therefore there is no problem correct? Pretty selfish way of thinking... It is a good change for those who have all the stuff or all the gear, because it pretty much ensures no one will catch up to them. That is what it does.

    I said before too that they didn't go from 1 to 9 to 'balance' anything. I'm pretty sure 9 was the max they could put, or else they would have gone higher. Would have been better for everyone to just take the recipes out of the game until they are ready for them.

    And trying to "prolong the content" really failed, because there are already people inside the labyrinth of Bahamut - With pictures /guides in the forums as proof. Mainly because they already had the darklight or crafted from 1.0....

    And how do you justify not needing Mailbreaker or similar for Relic reborn now, and obtain a stronger weapon from doing it? People will have the ilvl90 alagan weapons before even thinking about crafting any of those weapons.

    do you know where i could find the stats on the HQ'd crafted variants? I was under the impression the DL was the best even with good melds especially because of the stat caps imposed on melding.

    You'd have to get a picture from someone, but HQ crafted ilvl70 in most cases have the same stats, tho different sub stats, as darklight. Heavy Darklight armor is the only piece I know of with less of one stat, and that is parry. But you can meld materia to these to make them better. They take more work than just crafting them to make them better, and not every scrub crafter can make them. The base mat alone, Darkiron ingot for example, takes 347 craftmanship to craft. I just barely have that on my armorer after all HQ AF armor and tools and multiple multiple multi melds.

    Guaranteed on new player servers, people other than absolute no lifers wont get that far with their crafts or gathers to even make this stuff prior to newer and better gear release*, and they didn't make a dent in people who already had ilvl70 gear and above with this change...

    Im also pissed its 9 now , but some people might have stacked those in 1.0

    its a counter mesure to not overflood the market.

    It will be lowered in 2.1. im sure

    It may not be fair to some people but it is what it is. I regret not buying even more coke, potash, animal fat, etc. but nothing I can do about it now. Just play the game and gradually build up your gear.

    Yup at first I was upset too but then I realized it was for the greater good and to not let me pursue my selfish ambitions. Good call by SE even though it eliminated my chances at profits since first and foremost my first priority is gearing up my static (and I didn't have any leftover to craft gear to sell).

    Well I can agree to that but they should have adjusted other synths too like some of the rings taking 18, nearly 2000 points when they are what just over 300 for darklight? or 3000 for Vanya trousers and 825 tokens for darklight. The could have picked a better number than 9. Would have been nice if they were at least equivalent to each other.

    The short answer is, if you got it already you are very fortunate. Wait until later then you can catch up to the uber legacy lol. I'll leave it at that. Not a good change no matter what your optimistic/selfish take on it is. Already takes 3 dungeon runs for enough for 1 of the items.

    It's really also not really about the market. The market wasn't even their reason for this change, the reason is in the link above. The attempt to do so failed however, because as I said people are already rockin labyrinth of bahamut, with gear obtained before ARR came out.

    As a new player to ARR who is about to hit level cap on my first DoM class, this thread has convinced me to not bother with crafting at all. So if that was SE intention, mission accomplished.
