Idea to fix the lack of tanks in the duty finder

Errm just my two cents here.

I believe the duty finder is incredibly slow for DD jobs and in a smaller degree healer jobs.

Yet you can get parties almost instantly as a tank. Apparently there's quite the shortage of it.

But what is there an excess of? Arcanists.

And they are really great at tanking.

So if arcanists and summoners were able to tag their role as tanks I think it'd help duty finder advance much more rapidly.


Although for this to be possible, I believe that something would need to be done about engaging linked mobs with an avatar. Currently the non-targeted mobs go after the master instead of the pet itself.
I believe it'd make a lot more sense and be a lot more practical if mobs would attack the avatar that attacked, instead of the master.

Hmmmm...

Maybe it has to do with the fact that SE decided to make the least played MMO roles, also the most BORING and UN-FULFILLING. Give the tanks and healers more to do in combat and make them less boring.

I would assume the reason is alot of healer/tanks don't want to play with all those Jerks in the Duty Finder and run with their own groups ^^

Playing a tank and it's not insta que with the Duty Finder for me. I usually have to wait about 15-20 min to get in.

To me, tanking is not boring though. Gotta shift my eyes a lot to look at the hate meter and the adds as well as managing MP usage. To each of their own I guess~

sooooo true I'm playing tank and use duty finder and often there is this random dps who listen to nothing you say, does as he whish, and make everything harder.
It makes you really want to stop playing with random people sometime...

I've had problems with the duty finder in all three roles, sitting upwards of an hour sometimes. The reason we're not seeing duty finder doing well is that few people are bothering to use it, preferring instead to drown out the Shroud with LFP messages.
