There is a queue system. When that queue is full it just locks players out till a spot opens up. When a spot opens up it lets another one into the queue. No clue how many people the queue actually holds but talking to some people in-game one was in spot 235 another was in 255 so it holds a lot of ppl.

I've been trying since Saturday ffs. Could you imagine going to an ice cream store, paying for your ice cream cone, then the management said, "we are sorry, only a few people get to actually eat their ice cream that they paid for, please try again later. Would you consider that to be good business practice? Also, they kick you out of the store and tell you that only a limited amount of people can be in line to receive said ice cream cone, once a slot opens up you can re enter the line, but we won't tell you when that is or if it will ever happen. I doubt a simple ice cream store could survive treating "paying" customers that way, why should it be OK for SE to do the same??

It's nowhere close to 98%. Less than half of all servers are locking people out. It's your fault for trying to play on high pop servers, "bro".

It's not that difficult a concept: If you play on high pop servers during the first week of an MMO's launch, you have to deal with queues and not being able to log in. If you don't want to deal with that, then play on a lower pop server or wait a week before try to play on a higher pop one. I can understand people not getting this if it's their first MMO, but if it is, then now you know.

That's true. The one thing they can and should do is implement an AFK kick feature. Of course, those are usually easy to get around by turning on auto-run.

actualy if you want to play on a NA/EU server they are 100% locked from new characters and 100% cannot be logged into with out getting error 1017 over and over and over. so your only option is to play on a jp server with most likely none of your friends and a bunch of other players who don't speak the same language as you. dosen't that just sound like a great time

Incorrect. There are still NA servers that you can make characters on and aren't full. Stop making lies up.

And Japanese servers don't mean you have to speak Japanese. It means the server is in Japan. There are many English speakers on Japanese servers, including Japanese people (go figure, people have the capacity to be bi-lingual!)

ty for the info i wasn't aware there was even a que, but i have to say there shouldn't be such a low limit on a login que crank that bastard up to like 100,000 open slots hell might take 2 to 3 hours to login but it beats 8 to 9 hours of smacking the login button manualy just to leave in frustration
