Australian User - Payments are impossible.

Hello,

Today I purchased this game from the store to play it with friends from USA, but of course we Aussies are getting the EU version for unknown reasons.

Australia isn't eligable for a "Add Crysta" button on the side
ClickAndBuy isn't processing payments from Australia for some reason

So basically I purchased a game, registered product information, and now I cannot play because I can't put in my details to be allowed to make 1 character.

Please fix this horrible situation.

Some options will be to allow us to use Paypal, or merge Australia with America instead of Europe (like every other PC game we're lumped with).

tl;dr : You can buy FFXIV in Australia, but cannot register credit cards, so you cannot play the game, but you waste your product key and are out of money.

What kind of service is this? You should be bending over backwards to try and help your customers instead of brushing me off to third parties. Your company is the one who only gave us these options, yet now you're just redirecting me somewhere else.

I can't refund the game as it's an MMO and I used the product code while registering my account. What kind of paradoxial crap is this?

Refund my money, or fix my problem. Don't just redirect me somewhere else.

Yes I know you are not ClickAndBuy, but so long as that is your only way of servicing Australians, whilst selling this game in Australia, it makes you 100% responsible for my account to be created.


It's of no wonder this game is just tumbling down if you can't even see issues like this as a concern. Oversight upon oversight, hilariously hilarious.

It should be possible to get your FFXIV character created without actually having any crysta on your account. We aren't paying for them yet.

The problem lies in the fact that the whole Crysta portion of Austrlian accounts is completely disabled. There's no add/view crysta or anything. It just says "About crysta" to which you follow the link and the information states that it's not available in the country you picked.

With the stupid inability to change country in profiles, my product key is locked to a region that literally cannot use any form of payment to start the account.

Definitely a square enix issue, then. Although this is the first I've heard of people in your country having this problem, I've also never met anyone from Australia playing the game.. lol.

I find this rather hard to believe, seeing as I'm in Australia and ClickAndBuy worked perfectly fine when I set it up. So.. Yeah..

Works fine for me. Set it up on an AU account the day it came out without issue.

Considering you don't even USE click and buy to ADD a character slot, since the game is FREE, this shouldn't even be an issue. Methinks you are doing something incorrectly there, sir.

I believe you still need to have a VALID payment option set up before you can play (even though you're not charged). Please correct me if I am wrong. I know my friend didn't want to try the game for 30 days free (after wasting my buddy pass lol), because he was required to set up payment with Click & Buy before accessing the game.

I apologize if I'm wrong tho, it's been half a year since I did it.

You DO need to have a valid payment option selected. And you can use Crysta as your payment option even when you don't have any on your account.

However, the OP stated that Australian users are unable select Crysta as a payment option.
