I don't think that just because it's how things have been done in the past that we shouldn't strive to address it in the present. I'm not stressing myself out over the situation, rather hoping to be able to initiate dialogue and raise awareness so that more people can contribute, comment and bring it to SE's attention that it is an issue of concern to their players.
As far as I can see there is no legitimate reason for EU region players to be locked into paying in the currency that costs the most in conversion. If we are forced to pay in a non native currency, one would think it is only polite that we be given the option to pick from the currencies available so that we can at least select the one that doesn't needlessly cost us more.
Thats about std for 2 month cards for any MMO here. Still a premium on top, but at least the price is set, not fluctuating with currency conversion. Putting aside the 'it should be cheaper' arguement, the lack of options is more than a little irratating.
What you are suggesting does do away with the fluctuating dollar costs that comes with converting to another currency. But doesn't change the fact that we are getting charged the EUR rate when we could be paying the GBP rate which would save us 3 - 4 dollars a month.
The point of the argument is, out of the subscription currencies available to pay, we are forced to pay in the one that costs us more to convert to.
SE would still be getting their 8.99 GPB a month, it would just cost us less to convert to, that extra 3-4 dollars a month we pay doesn't go to SE's coffers, it's lost in conversion costs. So why not let us buy the GPB instead? It's not going to harm them in anyway.

I think the GBP listed price doesn't take into account of VAT though. AU and NZ GTC are GST inclusive AFAIK. and Euro is no tax included either.
50 bucks a month ffs
seriously

Even still, I'd rather be paying 8.99GPB + VAT than 12.99EUR + VAT. Does VAT get added to on-line subscriptions? I can understand physical copies of the game and game cards sold in Aust, but an on-line subscription would be the price set by the supplier?
That's a 60 day (2 month) game card. That is still $25 a month though, quite expensive.50 bucks a month ffs
seriously
