So is everyone enjoying the Launch of the much anticipated Final Fantasy 1017 ? I for one love it!! The game is so awesome... nothing like that POS for a game FFXIV that people can't even play.

Error 1017 has been an issue that has been getting worse over the passed couple of days. Last night I was logged in on Ultros server after about 20 attempts with this error. Eventually it put me in a Que. After logging in the server felt very crowded in certain areas, but at least I could play. Tonight my hopes of playing have all but evaporated as there is no getting passed this error 1017. We as a player community who are going to be paying a monthly subscription fee deserve an update to this issue at the very least. If this login issue is not addressed I have no intention of paying a monthly subscription for a game a cannot play.. /sigh

Q system should comeback. I dont care if im number 300 on the waiting list but at least I know that ill be in eventually.

It's amazing how different the vibes of different companies are.

Last week during Gamescom, Carbine didn't really announce anything new about Wildstar, but devs in NA were still up in the middle of the night to update their website and tweet in real time while the event was happening in Europe. The game doesn't even launch until 2014 and they don't even have forums yet, but the devs still post on multiple fan sites and chat rooms. Even when we're disappointed (like when the launch date got pushed back) it's impossible not to feel cared about or get mad because they are constantly communicating with us. They don't just post things; they have actual conversations with us.

So far SE has been mostly silent, and when they do post something it's just some non-informative text that has been copied and pasted in the News section. It's like the whole company is being run by robots (except for the fact that robots would probably at least solve the problem). Even if they don't care about us, isn't it good business sense to at least pretend like they do?

1017 isnt really a "bug." It is something they implemented to prevent people from logging into the servers when they reach a specific population limit. The real question is what are they going to do about all the people trying to play their game.

So I've played some the last couple days and enjoyed the game.

I have lvl'd one toon to lvl 20 CNJ and several trade and gathering skills to about the same but as many people have mentioned, once you get knocked off the server you are on, it is impossible to get back online.

I am willing to give up this toon and play on another server. I made a toon and the one NA/EU server that was available at the time, tried to log into the game and the server was full.

Started making a 3rd character, got to the server list. All NA/EU servers were not allowing new characters except one. Choose that server, tried to log into the game, server is full.

Started making another character, got to the server lists, but there is no NA/EU servers that are accepting characters and I doubt even if I got one made, I would be able to log into the world.

I am willing to be flexible and I really enjoy your game but unfortunately I cannot play it unless I get lucky.

So what was the reason of this post, we need a game plan. Do you have a solution to this? Will you be releasing new servers?

Basically here's what they said (paraphrased):

We know there's a server problem, but in order to track it, we have to limit the rate in which people can log into the worlds (servers). Widening the pipe could cause server crashes and mask what's causing the problem, so till then either a) bear with us by waiting to play b) bear with us and attempt to login over and over again or c) go create a character on a JP server which are mostly unaffected.

What I hate is that the server is full based on how many people are login in, not by how many are actually doing something. Go by any city and you will see so many people afk for hours, but the server doesn't kick them and those who want to play can't get in. If they are going to continue login restrictions, they need a system that kick people afk, cause they refuse to give up there spot in the server. There is nothing in this game that requires you to be login in and afk.
