The last game I played that had a launch like this was Rift, and they attempted to fix it by opening up more servers. 2 months down the line all but 2 servers were virtually dead with everyone yelling at trion to merge servers.

The game will die down after a week and all the new servers would be barren and terrible to play on so thank you SE for not opening up new servers.

Trion solved that issue by adding FREE character transfers. Which means they handled BOTH of the issues they had better then SE has handled this ONE issue.

Fail. They are putting in new servers. Just not in the NA/EU side they are putting them into the Japanese Servers which aren't over crowded at all. Yet...

Stop feeding the TROLL... and btw I havnt been able to log in in over 3 days.... I was planning on playing this game for many years to come... I highly doubt that will be the case... giving it two more days and FFXIV will be dead to me. Mainly because they refuse to respond to this 1017 issue.

I've been able to log out, and back into multiple servers. I currently have 1 character on every servers including the big 3 in case I want to play on them. I have not had any longer than 5 minutes trying to log onto any server yet, and I didn't get the game till yesterday as a 1.0 player. The situation is blown way out of proportion.

Ok what servers? I am trying and only ONE was white and had a 85 cue then about a 1min later said full try again later.

You are flat out lying or drastically exaggerating. Either way you are false. I haven't been able to play since the second day of EA. World full error all the time.

play NA/EU servers and get off the jp servers you are complete and totally full of shit.

I set my alarm to 4:00 AM EST, logged in, every single server was open for new chars. Made 1 on each server, and then got ready for the day a bit earlier than normal.

Since then I have logged onto Leviathan, behemoth, midgardsomir, and gilga multiple times.

After it dies down, they could just give free transfers. As long as they could transfer the linkshells and Free Companies, I think everyone would go for that.

You get rest bonus for logging out in an inn. Leaving idlers in the game takes up room from people trying to log in and play. Most of the problems with launch so far would be solved with an auto-kick idlers.

Yes, you're correct about getting rest bonus from Inns, BUT they have implemented sanctuaries for the purpose of granting rest bonus to people who stand around in sanctuaries. That was/is their plan.
I know that we all would love to have auto-kick for idlers, but seeing as how there's sanctuaries and SE's online information (I can't remember where and I don't plan to search for it) that states "you don't have to log out in an Inn"... it's there by design.

Now, if the argument is: SE poorly designed the game, etc... then YES, YES they did! All the more reason to add servers and/or increase capacity and/or offer World Transfers NOW and get all this out of the way.
