1) I'm not an expert, but the last time I looked into this, that means that you can't, like, rip the music file off of a video and distribute that as your own or as something that you benefit from ( usually monetarliy)

2) This one, i think is self explanatory. It's idea is that they don't want you to, say, use their images with different music to portray the game as something it's not. (obviously, with the exception of parodies or satire.) But you may distribute the content, in it's entirety, to someone else, in tandem with something else. So say, you provide a book about video games, and then distribute a memory card with it with FFXIV game footage as reference (obviously with their permission first)

If you have any doubts, just follow this general rule. Do it with good taste and in a way that doesn't give people a misconception of that the game is really like. Obviously, there are exceptions, but this is the general rule I've found while navigating these things in the past.

Every video that gets posted on youtube I am going to strip the audio from it and overlay some death metal into the video. I'll reupload it to youtube and report the video to Square Enix so everyone who posts videos on youtube gets banned.

Also, lets not forget the fact that 99.9% of ALL OTHER GAMES allow twitch.tv streamers to stream their game. But FF14 thinks they are making the right choice to disallow streamers if they have a partnership.

Np. ^^b Also keep in mind that unless the right holders are total d**ks (which this tos agreement seems to say otherwise), they'll send a warning letter first. It'll sound stern cause it's in legalise, but it's just their way of asking you to take the stuff down. As long as you go "Yep, sorry about that. Didn't realize I was stepping on your toes." you'll be fine.

The official word can be hard to get since someone will usually have to tap a lawyer's shoulder >.<. Good luck though. If you get a reply, post it here. I'm interested in knowing the official word too. ^^b

Funny that everyone seems to get hung up on YouTube and doesn't think of the whole picture.

You may not monetize your video via the YouTube partner program or any similar programs on other video sharing sites.

That means any advertising partner programs, including the ones on Twitch.tv or any other streaming site. Right now, out of the top 10 FFXIV channels, 5 are currently using monetizing advertisements and subscription plans. Those channels comprise over 8000 viewers, which is over 70% of current viewership watching FFXIV.

I'd be interested to see if Twitch or SE actually do anything about that and risk the publicity hit that would bring, or just ignore it and show this restriction has no teeth.
