Agreed, also agree on 30+ minutes.

Agreed, also agree on 30+ minutes.
100% support the idea of afk timers kicking you out after 30 minutes.
I made a thread about this two days ago and got 2 likes. lol.
anyways, supported.
Not supported. And they will never implement this.
What we suffer is "the curse of knowledge". For new people, most of the dungeons after level 24 is considered "intense". For us, we just don't understand why newbies do not "get the mechanic" when everything is spelled out for you right in front of your screen... For them Brayflox is HARD ("you want me to Esuna all of you? move out of the way? and cure three people???), Sunken Temple is "ZOMG WTF was that", Cutter's Cry was "intense" and Titan "baby trial" was "fck this, I swear I ran and out of the train track from hell".
AFK'ing isn't the cause of the issue, it's a lack of server capacity and removal of the login queues. Just like all of those in this topic supporting the AFK kick, those people simply don't want to be facing a pointless error either, repeatedly hammering a login button. And with most people around actively moving, the few who are idle'ing are hardly going to make a change. Primetime and even outside of it, will still remain a mess with the current popularity and login throttling.
put in afk timeout and see how much i care

100% Agree with an auto-DC. There have been people all morning talking about just afking instead of logging for the day/night. These people need to be kicked so that it not only doesn't create queues for the servers, but it doesn't deter people from playing after they experience those queues.

But then how would I do laundry and go grocery shopping while I play?

half an hour is no good
that's the regular duty finder waiting time for a DD
what if people decided to take a break and go afk as they wait for the duty finder?
an hour is okay, i think
lol that's too muchput in afk timeout and see how much i care

just tuck in a small folded paper or such in between the keyboard keys and it's done

I agree 100%. Many FFXI players are used to going to bed and leaving their characters logged in all night. Even worse, players who normally don't behave this way are starting to do it too now that they're worried about not being able to get back into the game.
Now that player-run bazaars have been removed from the game, there is no longer any justification for not having an /afk auto-logout. It's baffling that this hasn't been implemented.
This is how it works in World of Warcraft:
- You are marked AFK automatically after 5 minutes without any interaction (moving, typing, etc).
- You'll be logged off and sent to the character selection screen if you are AFK for 30 minutes.
- You'll be disconnected from the server if you remain at the character selection screen for 30 minutes.
Please implement an /afk auto-logout!
