Did I say people can't make videos? No. I quoted exactly what the issue is.

Regardless of your opinion about the YouTube video making community, the point is, ARR will not get nearly the coverage it could have gotten because of this policy in regards to monetization on YouTube. SE isn't in the business of charity and neither are most big YouTubers.

Like I said, it's free promotion that SE doesn't have to pay for, why deny them monetization? They aren't paying for any of it? But they will in a negative way now.

perhaps you do not understand what intellectual property is, or what private property rights are. or what constitutes fair use and right of parody, but that i gather only from conjecture based on your statements. this is not soviet russia governing the rules.

In Soviet Russia, videos monetize you.

Anyway, I don't think it's going to be a big deal, if any. I mean, just don't monetize off it and people will still watch if it's really worth it. Hobbyists will still create good videos if they do enjoy making them. If you're in it for the money or even live off monetization, then I think there are better sources of income you should look into. Personally I think the reason of this is that monetization has the same connotation as RMT. You gain from their assets. (also in the you're working off playing a game sense)

I'm not sure, but I think most have a "For educational purpose" or stuff like that (for teachers / tutorials).

I read your post when you updated it, I think you got to about here before you responded in a crappy way even denouncing someones opinion after asking in a thread what they thought. I imagine you either looked like an asshole or an idiot... it seems from here they treated you as such.

FFXIV has spent a great deal on advertising, TBH you can easily take the cut on youtube. also again they told you about how it only effects those trying to make money. anyway you swing it, All it means is that every youtube video wont be making money. and will only be promoting the game.

There is no need to reply to this directly, I said what I had to say and pointed out your initial mistake, which would be denouncing someone after asking there opinion. It is very easy to see where it would go from there.

sounds like a "if we can't make money from it neither can you" type situation, Dunno what SE's problem with it is :x it doesn't hurt them and if anything....it increases subscriptions and...helps pay for continued subscriptions >.>; Draven, if you find a way around this i say go you
