I wish people would stop trying to pretend like they're absolutely sure which guilds are being referred to, because you don't know 100%. Translations can be wonky and information can get a bit misconstrued sometimes. For instance, the German translation seems to hint that they are, in fact, referring to the disciplinary guilds.

Well the patch notes does specifically say adventurers guilds. The boards in the adventurers guilds give tasks from the separate guilds. and it does say one task per guild per day, which could mean per class guild, not per adventurers guild. (Hmmm.)

Which only serves to tell you where these quests can be obtained. As Mack noted above, they separated Adventurers' Guilds from Eorzea's guilds, most likely for a reason. And as for the German translation:

roughly translates to, "By examining the notice boards in the various city-states, one can undertake the posted tasks for the various guilds."

I hope you don't think I'm disagreeing with you, because I'm not. Sorry if it came off that way, haha. I'm leaning heavily towards them referring to the 18 guilds as well; I just wish people wouldn't start trying to get defensive about it when nobody really knows with 100% certainty, despite what common sense and basic understanding of the English language suggest.
