PS3 Monster Select

I don't really know where else to post this as it's not technically a bug, more of a suggestion.

Is this something that can be improved? I would like the monster targeting to target the closest monster, not ones across the screen and 5 selects over I finally select the one I want. It makes doing FATEs rather difficult, especially when the majority of the time I'm selecting other players.

Also, is there a way to make it so where once I select a monster, it stays selected? There's been plenty of times where I'll be attacking one monster and my select automatically goes to another. I think it's because another monster is attacking me? It is rather annoying and has gotten me killed on some occasions.

Or am I not playing the game right? lol
