Scholar Macros

Hi guys, so I have had the pleasure of running around with my oh so lovely fairy and having a grand old time.

But fun time is over for this Lalafell, time for the business end of the job. To get to the point, has anyone managed to figure out how to macro pet abilities?

My goal is to find a macro that allows me to use <mo> in conjunction with Eos' Embrace so I can basically micromanage her healing better. Currently I manually click and cast using her as a second cast bar but I like being lazy with <mo> :3

Any suggestions, speculation, what-have-you would be appreciated ^^

As sad as it is to make a line like this, I'd ask you to keep any flame wars away from here, I don't need to sift through a pool of "only bads use macros for pets" type comments as I've seen in some other threads (I wish I was joking).

I've tried to macro my pets skills but cant seem to do it, I really hope they have this feature in their macro tool ... its pretty advance so I'd be surprised if they dont have it.

I just need to work out the right / command so far /pet or /ac or any combination doesnt seem to work

Well there is no manual stance for the pet that let's you to micromanage healing. Scholar is not ready for hard modes and people who want all out of the healing without leaving to pretty unreliable AI, there just not enough control-tools as well as macros. I hope they don't leave class broken until 2.1. No tools for hard core healers = bad idea! Yoshi P, fix it before frustrated people abandon ship and go WHM!.

Please SE read: Scholar Feedback -> My fairy is doing Whispering down automatic when i use obey to attack. This must be fixed. Our AoE regen must be controlled by us and not by the AI of the fairy. It was a pain healing in Toto-Rak by this situation.

Just picked up my Scholar quest and have to agree that if a class relies so heavily on its pet, you need to have control over the pet. I was trying to figure out the other day how to macro my pet stance and my mount so I wouldn't lose it running through mobs. It seems that the functionality just isn't there for anything other than skills specifically on your Actions tab. I can see this as being added in a patch soon, because it's just too huge of a thing to leave out.

At the VERY LEAST you need to be able to turn off auto cast on abilities. I'd be okay with that and hotkeys as a temporary fix to the macro situation.

Agreed. I'm excited about advancing to a Scholar but I'm weary of the level of control I'll have over my pet. I feel as if my Arcanist pet(s) are already have a mind of their own.

Hmm well, I've healed up to Brayflox so far and found the micro to be manageable but unintuitive.

As it stands, I use Embrace on the target I want healed a fraction before using my own heal (choosing target, manually casting Embrace - usually I'll only do this for multiple targets), I do this every second cast or so depending on party damage (every cast if taking high party damage). The auto AI for Embrace is sufficient if you're dealing with minor party damage though. Using place properly partially mitigates the auto aoe she seems to love but that can get really really tricky in higher mobility fights (like Halatali's final boss). Now I know those dungeons don't exactly warrant that kind of control but it's a great way to practice.

Right now I'm doing a small challenge where the majority healing done is through Eos while I try to put out as much damage as a DD class using cleric stance. It's helping me familiarise myself with pet control while also making most dungeons go a lot faster, though she can't handle Brayflox alone unfortunately.

Overall I feel that SCH is extremely powerful with A LOT of versatility but just needs a slight tweak with its pet control.

Yeah, the Scholar is an awesome job, im really happy to that, but the pet control is a bit horrible. I hope on next update SE fix a bit this situation :P

So I've found that if you set Eos to, "Steady," she will only cast Embrace UNLESS you manually choose the AOE HOT or Spell Defense cooldown. It's worked fairly well for me so far, but you do have to reset the Steady after any fight which you use one of the cooldowns. Hope this helps someone!

I haven't thought about this as I haven't tried to micromanage my healing pets quite yet. But I will do some looking in on how to write macros a bit and see if I can come up with something. I think it would be great if I could do some real damage output (not much but 1-2% of a mobs hp can save the day ya know) while effectively healing.
