World Transfer fees?

I haven't seen too many threads on World Transfers in general, but I thought I saw something in the SE Welcome Back program about transfers after launch having a fee if an individual wanted to transfer a character from a new server to a Legacy one. However, from nearly every thread I see about World Transfers, I've yet to see one that talks about the fees (if there is/will be any).

So does anyone know anything about it?

Also! Anyone have a link to that Welcome Back Campaign page? I seem to be unable to find it again :/

We assume there will be a fee, but there shouldn't be. GW2 has free transfers so why can't SE? Just limit the transfer to once a month.

Yes there will be a transfer fee. I for one want to get out of my server asap! I only joined it because of a free company. Turns out they werent for me. I have friends on another server so I want to go there instead.

What I was referring to was a possibility that the first World transfer at launch will be free, considering a lot of people were displaced with their main characters and a few other reasons/situations. Transfer fees are given, the first one though is what I'm wondering about

I thought I saw something about the fee at the bottom of the "Veteran Reward System" news article on the Lodestone page, but I can't seem to find the Veteran Reward System news topic anymore. hah.

GW2 transfers are not free, They were when the game release for a time. No game has free transfers, because free transfers are a bad business decision.

Charging to transfer characters from one server to another is an old system of mmorpgs which should be done away with, we already pay a monthly fee. Its just greed. They can simply design a method that allows everyone to pick which server to login with their characters each time or set a default server. Right now however, it would probably take a lot of work to transition to that. But really new mmorpgs these days should strive to that and design their games with that feature involved.

GW2 transfers are not free, They were when the game release for a time. No game has free transfers, because free transfers are a bad business decision.

GW2 had free transfers for months after launch and once they did charge you could pay with in game money from farming making it free. They also let people transfer to the lowest pop servers for FREE and they lowered the cost for medium pop servers. know what your talking about when making a statement about other games. If GW2 can do it so can SE. But yes lets just be oblivious to the right ways to run servers like GW2 did and just be a fanboy and say all the other games had horrible server population issues too. Even tho they didn't derp.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw this. I personally think they took it down, because they are hopefully planning to make at LEAST the first World Transfer Application period a free one, and considering the information about the Veteran Reward System had a statement that there is a fee, they couldn't leave it up . But that's just a theory
