    It could be because this isn't WoW, and people actually like to help each other in this game. Also, money in this game is REALLY easy to come by (do a few battlecraft leves, and some crafting leves and you can easily get at least 10,000 GIL (rank 10 leves)), and whenever I need a repair, I supply the required item(s) to do it, so it's not like it's really costing them anything, other than a few seconds of their time.

    The person doing the repair also gains SP for doing the repair, so there's absolutely nothing that should make them charge more, since they get extra SP, and nothing is (at least with me) taken out of their own resource stock.
