to allow half of your use base to play while the other half is denied access. I understand you do it so people can play while you fix the issue but in my time of playing MMOs or games in general i have never heard of such a huge issue like this not have servers shut down completely and instead just let who ever gets on and play while you alienate the other side of the user base.

I hope to god you guys are planing something to give back to your user base for this.

Just to clarify i am only talking about NA/EU servers. I have quite a few friends and they also have friends that are currently playing the game while everyone else is being denied access by world is full.

I didn't say JP. I have a ton of friends right now playing the game on balmung (NA) while it says world is full for me and everyone else.

I understand why they are doing it, but it doesn't make it right. Telling your other user base to sit and wait while they work on something they have tried to fix with 4 server restarts is not.

JP isn't down. Half of the NA/EU pop can play. They made a mistake by allowing it. It is unfair, especially with a lack of communication.

Edit: Correction, they have been posting on twitter via: FFXIV_NEWS_EN though I don't know how many people know of this twitter, I just found out about it. I usually follow FF_XIV_EN

Not shutting the servers down completely screws many people over that may have been trying to go for world firsts or even trying to do races or anything of the sort. Everyone locked out is falling behind by the minute and it will only piss them off and they will pass on word to other people and so on.


If this continues i can tell you right now, this will be bad press for them.

Also if they were any kind of smart they could easily track how many hours people are playing and then kick them off and let new people in, at least that would be fair.

All my friends are on the Marlboro server, I try to create a character to put on that server to play with them and it tells me this server is no longer accepting characters, wait for the restriction to be lifted or find another server. My question is Am i screwed? Can i not join that server?.... because i bought early access and i can't join the same server as my friends?? That is TOTAL BS if thats the case? Please help!

See, thing is, they are slowly ramping up the number of people allowed in, seeing when the server starts to fail, and adjusting from there. Turning off all the servers makes it impossible to know where the upper limits are.

Being jealous some people can play (and I am not one of those, myself, been locked out all day) is not useful.
