I'm glad I made it and it's serving its purpose. I learned a bit here and there as well.I just want to say that reading this thread took up a good chunk of my time and thoroughly distracted me from the problem at hand. So thanks for that.
It's nice to read some rational arguments rather than the typical rage and fanboy defense of SE.
I'm just worried that they'll rush the fix to make it in time and end up messing things up even worse than they intended to.
Please continue to keep this thread alive!

A reasonable and well thought out thread...for the most part. I confess I do want video apologies, discussing the details of the why of the situation, in addition to providing an estimation of a timeline, and what is being done to resolve the issue. This is not what we are receiving. We are receiving endless waves of indistinct non-detail oriented "sorry"s that do not acknowledge the breadth of the problem, nor show any sense of urgency on SE's part.

I'm the Bloodgaru Queen.
Errors are bound to happen, at least in every release in an MMO, but this is too much, i believe we should get some compensation, i haven't been able to play just yesterday and i could continue with my story quest due to the instance error, but at least i was able to play somewhat, and since i have 1.0 CE, i had to buy another copy to get this early access, i bought 2.0 PS3 CE for the physical items.
For me this is inexcusable, in every business if someone buys something and they were told that the product will be delivered by X day, and you couldn't make it, you have to pay a fine, for lost time and etc. And they're never cheap.
Agreed. SE hasn't really shown much accountability for what's happening.A reasonable and well thought out thread...for the most part. I'm sure SE has something in the works....hopefully.

The problem is, the game is already in a bad light. A lot of SE's fans have felt let down the past several years with weak release after weak release. Everyone in the industry knows what a flop 1.0 was and now all eyes are on this.
And the truth is, SE cannot afford to have these issues in two days. Hell, even tomorrow would be terrible. IGN has announced they'll be doing a live stream of the game tomorrow, and if they're unable to login, the media will have a field day with that. One day later, NDA will be lifted, and all the little YouTubers with their tens of thousands of followers each will also rip the game apart if they run into these issues.
These days, it's cool to hate, especially if the subject is a large, successful corporation. There are media journalists who are foaming at the mouth to give this game a negative review. And after the terrible experience of FFXIV 1.0 and Yoshi-P's public stance about regaining player trust, this launch HAD to be perfect.
I'm worried about the potential media frenzy if these issues continue because it will heavily affect sales, and I sure as hell don't want to see a game that I immensely enjoy losing all support from SE and going into a F2P model.
