Make more servers and offer free transfers.

Perhaps a good way to help a bit with the server population problem:

1) SE makes new servers, or select lowest populated servers.

2) SE Gives people the option to transfer to those low populated servers for free.

If this kind of service is offered to players, I am sure many people would transfer.
Some people want to play with their friends, no matter the server. Some just wouldn't mind transferring.
I am sure this wouldn't completely fix the issue, but it might help a bit.

What do you folks think?

The problem is that the majority or all of the NA/EU servers are inundated with players and opening new ones and flooding them with transfers will do nothing to help.

You can't just throw new servers at it and hope for the best. There needs to be a balance. The current servers all need to be able to handle the heavy traffic.

I don't care about new servers. I just want my character off Gilgamesh. It's ridiculous to have that many people all at once, so that its full 85% of the time. I want to go to somewhere my friends joining at launch (7+ people) can all join my world. Free transfers one time only. Please SE.

While I think this is a fantastic idea, the fact that they didn't plan to offer transfers until 2-3 weeks after release in the first place may mean that they don't have the infrastructure for single character transfers set up. This may also be a low priority until they get the current server infrastructure stabilized

They will stabilized the servers if they make new servers. It will be naive of them to keep ignoring the cry of new servers. When their solution to the problem is keep a minority of their players outside the game just to keep the game from crashing on them again.

This doesn't even make sense. First you say that the problem is too many people on the NA/EU servers. Then you say that somehow opening new servers and allowing people to transfer to them will "do nothing to help". How is that logical in anyway shape or form? Obviously adding servers and letting people move to those servers would lessen the amount of people per server. OP i completely agree (and apparently so does SenKoyo he just doesn't realize he agrees. Add more NA/EU servers then allow free transfers. That would 100% alleviate the issues based on what they have told us. They are saying it is all because of congestion so therefore if they relieved the congestion the problems would be at least lessened if not completely solved. It's not rocket science. They gave JP WAY too many servers, they are like ghost towns. But won't open more servers for the NA/EU population. Makes no sense. This thread needs way more visibility and likes on OPs post because that is what is needed. This issue is only going to get worse come tuesday when the people that didn't have EA get to logon, what then? More "maintenance"?

The problem with saying "HEY free transfers for everyone!" is that so many people are having issues that the transfers themselves would populate the new servers entirely too fast, and problems would still exist. What I don't like about their Worlds list is the lack of information as to just how full those servers are. If they could place some sort of meter displaying the server population then others would feel less inclined to go to them. I'm sure some servers are more stacked than others, but people have no real way of knowing.

If new servers are opened and free transfers are granted, then may I suggest allowing us to have a visual of the server's current size. I never would have joined Diabolos if I had known it was HORRIBLY full.

I agree that they need to add a LOT more servers, and they definitely need to provide us with free server transfers right away. But NOT exclusively to low populated servers.

Personally, I am on Leviathan. My RL friends and I have been on Leviathan since it was added with the start of Phase 3. That's our chosen server. But today some of us are on Leviathan, while several more friends are currently scattered across various other servers due to all these lockouts.

This is entirely unreasonable. It's not a mere inconvenience that they can just apologize for. There is no reason my friends and I should be forced off of our chosen server. They need to provide free character transfers so that misplaced friends, like mine, can all get together on the same server.

I'll add my voice to this. If they'd let us free transfer to some other server, I'd be in. But they need to do it fast. People are losing interest...
