If you are wanting your money back please do us a favor never play a mmo again. this is how they work first few weeks of launch they fix all the problems that come up no game is without this progress even mmo tycoon World of Warcraft. hell WoW wasnt even really playable for almost a month after release and even now they release a xpac and its buggy for a week or so till everything is fixed so please stop bitching and asking for a refund cause you wont get one.

Yes, WoW had a bad launch, nine years ago. Sure, if we compare this to Anarchy Online, sure it's not bad at all! But yeah, this is much worse than the new standard. Making apologies for it makes absolutely no sense either.

I will agree though, wanting your money back is pretty ****** ridiculous. If anything, just wait for 3.0.

Complain or not we have two choices, wait or never come back and never trust SE Online again. I am choosing the latter but to think this version of FF14 is an attempt of redemption makes it ridiculous. This was my very first pre-order of an MMO I have done and certainly will be my last thanks to this. Lesson learned I suppose.

Your argument is not valid, and you need to stop using it.

Companies want you to pre order a game. They get money ahead of time, and invest it, it is a huge thing for any game company, and that is also why pre orders are widely used among all game companies.

To get players to want to give their money early so the company can make use of it before releasing a product, these companies offer pre order incentives. These incentives are a product, and they are rewards to ppl who allow the company to invest their money ahead of time. So you are indeed paying for whatever was advertised as part of that package.

I fail to see what ppl claiming no one paid for early access doesn't understand.

early access cost me closer to 40, as I was on v1 but not legendary (sorry our game sucked so bad we had to shut it down and completely remodel it, but since you didn't play it anyway the only way to play early is to buy it again). luckily my gf wanted to play so its not like I got a second copy for nothing. and honestly, I don't care if it was two cents. i made a business deal with SE and held up my end, where is theirs? and limiting log ins? that's the biggest cop out ever. i can deal with maintenance, and have done so patiently all weekend, but now that i come back (after getting kicked off by a glitch) to see that i can't even log in because they decided the best way to ease congestion is just to not let people play, now i'm mad. that tells me they're not even trying. imagine anyone else doing that. "oh, i'm sorry, our cook is having kind of an off night, so half of you are gonna have to leave so the rest can have decent service. sorry." how long would that place stay open?

Worst launch ever...

Played EQ1, EQ2, DoAC, Star Wars, STOR, WOW, and even Star Trek. There might be a few more in there...

This, based on technology advances and the MMORGP experience gained since the inception of the computer based RPG's is by far the worst launch ever been handed out.

It's basically "lets collect as much cash for the game from purchases, we will make more by making it free to play next month".

And this is where you fail. EA is unofficial release. The game that we can play right now, is the live release version, so you're argument there is invalid.

Whats more unacceptable, waiting in a queue for a game that has about 8 million players all trying to log in at once, or being repeatedly told "we're sorry" for 2 days and having the game reject you, instead of placing you into a queue? Most people have said, they'd rather wait in a long ass queue right now, then be constantly rejected by the game over and over. The servers aren't down, they're just limited to the point where most people aren't able to play. Which is worse then them being down. would rather they be down for 5 hours, then be restricted to a minority of players for 36 hours.

FYI, we did pay for EA. The preorder bonuses are the incentive for preordering.

I will agree this is retarded but it is a smooth launch besides server issues. They built a beautiful game with no game breaking bugs. i have yet to see anything in my time in it that was... well this is unplayable. like my necro in daoc had (ran like a freaking moron all over frontiers), wows massive issues, some of the large exploits and bugs in swtor. in fact i have yet to see a perfect launch. tera was terrible (modern mmo) but most people think the "launch" was when it went f2p... im not getting a black screen of death kick to windows...

The problem with the game is actually something every dev dreams of and every player hates. There are just far to many of us wanting to play our final fantasy mmo. We quite literally blew out the door on expected players to initially purchase the game and their actual hardware can't support this many americans/eu playing at launch. sucks for us because it causes us to not be able to play, for them to control a pr nightmare, but it happened.

1.0 PC Owners -> September 9th
2.0 Only Owners -> September 26th
1.0 PC + 2.0 PS3 Owners -> October 9th

Hmmm... well, we've got either 5 days, or 47 days at most until Freemium status wears off...

DUST514 has possibly the smoothest launch of any MMO ever(yes guys, DUST514 is an MMO, lol).


The most frustrating part of all of this, isthe lack of communication from square on the subject. a single update once every 5 hours doesn't do much good.
