Bout time I saw someone else besides myself that has some sensibility of what the real issue is. I don't think SE anticipated this many people, and I can't blame the players for wanting to play, but it just can't be helped at launch.
I don't think they will attempt to increase server capacity till after a few weeks from launch. The reason I say this is because, everyone get's excited about launch and there's always a huge population spike during this period, but it eventually does die down, so from a business perspective it makes more sense to wait it out rather than buy a really expensive server.
However, it does not mean countermeasures can't be taken. One in particular that I believe they should implement is an Force-Kick feature that automatically removes idle players who have been AFK for more than 1-2 hours. There isn't a reason to keep people logged in anymore, and most MMO's already have such a feature to help with this problem so it makes sense to have it.

Price was no object when Count Dascorp put forth the necessary guild marks to purchase the ability “Fleet of Foot.”

Wayyyy ahead of ya!Well one solution I was thinking of was while the NA/EU servers are down, we could all help stress test the JP servers by creating a character on them. Since it seems there aren't enough people to actually stress test a single Nation that has the same amount of servers versus two countries...![]()
