The bot i found that SE wont do anything about

if im a GM, and i see you crafting nonstop, several reports have come to me saying you may be a bot

i send you a message...no response(you are sitll crafting)
i send you anaother...no response

if you are crafting, you ARE at the computer right? if you ARE at the computer, you should be able to respond to me
if you arent, you are botting, and you are therefor getting banned

if you are in another window, i DONT CARE that you are, i dont care that you are watching a movie, the fact that you CAN NOT respond to me yet are still crafting, is a surefire sign that you probably are a bot, since after all....if your not there to respond...you arent there

and thats the point



as a side note, i watch movies ALL THE DAMN TIME while crafting, and i still have time to respond to people in game, its not that hard to do. and its even easier to moniter tells since they dont come as often and are colored differently


now granted, banning someone that isnt boting while watching a movie is a wrongful ban, but at the same time, it is their fault for not responding if thats the cause of it

The person behind the computer chose to ignore a tell and therefore can suffer the consequences of it if it comes down to that. If you look like a bot, act like a bot, dont respond like a bot, you probly are a bot, they arent gonna spend hours trying to get you to respond, they wiull maybe give you 1-2 tries if that, and if you dont respond, yet are still actively crafting, you are pretty much guarenteed to get hit.

You logic does not make sense. I am at the computer now. I am crafting while I'm talking to you. Are my eyes glued to the screen? No. I am a bot? I think GM's have more sense then that and give them more credit then you are. There is no rule against it and I restate I would protest if it was brought to my attention.

so your saying its the GMs job to know you are there even if you dont respond to them?

the logic does make sense

crafting and able to respond = at computer
crafting and unable to respond = not at computer therefore a bot

logic dictates that if you are able to craft, you should be at computer and able to respond, there is no ifs ands or buts about it, no other way to look at it

I disagree. There is no rule your eyes have to be glued to the screen. I could show lots of examples of this but basically there is no reason someone should be banned for being distracted and not paying attention 100% of the time. I suppose could turn off all chat filters but tell so I could notice more if a GM is trying to contact me. Like I said I'm not completely ignorant as to what is going on while I mindlessly press the A button on my screen. Maybe you should start a thread to ban players that are not attentive 100% of the time and make it a rule.

tell me, if a gm is trying to contact you on suspicioun of botting
how do they tell you apart from the bots when you dont respond, and they dont respond?
you are both crafting, and non responsive

the answer, they dont, now granted, they wont just send 1 message and then hit ban, they will probly give you several attempts, but if you just cant respond to them, it will be assumed you arent there

GM doesnt ban you directly, there are serial of protocool they need to do before they confirmed that you are a bot, they arent going to ban you for not lookin at screen for 2min while pressing A, but when u finish a craft and started another craft, but still doesn't respond then something is up.. they might send u to jail and if u still doens't respond, its a banhammer for you.

It's more logical to realize that the majority of the player base is not attentive 100% of the time. Also important are all the threads of ideas crafters do/use while crafting to avoid the monotony of crafting. If you did a poll I am gonna take a wild leap here and say 95% of crafters are not attentive 100% of the time. SE needs a way to detect hax not ban players for not being attentive and that is what they should use.

this is what im getting at, its not a 1 non response and bam your done
but if they send you tells, over and over, no response, and you dont respond...your in trouble

even funnier is if they send you to jail and you are STILL crafting and not responding, explain that then

no one says you cant do other things, but if you are so wrapped up in them you cant respond to the game for long periods of times...your asking for trouble and can NOT use it as an excuse if they come for you

even if you have /tell filter on, they will just appear in front of you because just in case you have /tell filter on.. and u just cant miss GM toon in front of you. XD
