Armoury Chest/All Slots Not Created Equal

The Armoury Chest is an amazing tool! However certain item slots carry way more weight in inventory space than others. Most notably the Main Hand/Weapon slot, what we need is either a larger chest to sort these items or more preference given to players regarding the use of said chest space.

    Options
1: Allow players to designate how many slots of the total chest space to each specific category. With this method I could decide to put 30-40 items reserved for Main Hand/Weapons and lower the reserved amount for rings/necklaces/belts ect to whatever I felt was more appropriate.

2: Just change the item limit by category to better facilitate the space required for each individual item type.

It would also be nice to be able to sort by level/job/class/or type of profession ie DoH ect.

Number 2 would be nice as long as you don't have to "click" around to much to change what item type you would like to see.
I think an option to have the weapons listed would be nice.
    Example:

    Lancer [][][][]
    Conjurer [][]
    Pugilist []
    Marauder [][][]

and so on. in the case of "[]" that is an weapon. By doing this you can get a good overview on how many weapons for each class and sort them out easier. the list will be a little long in the end but you can combine the class and job icon for Dragoon/Lancer.

Sort? Sure. Sort options are... the more the merrier!
I think capacity is fine, though.

I agree, but I feel like you have it backwards here. Main hand? The main hand is one of the easiest categories to manage. You only need 1 weapon per class. The moment you upgrade it, you never need the lower level weapon again. So you can sell or transmute that older weapon right away. We have 8 combat classes, 8 crafting classes and 3 gathering classes. So until they add more classes, you shouldn't need more than 19/25 slots in your mainhand inventory.

The space issues are in chest, hands, legs and boots. Those four items get upgraded very often, and you have good reason to hold onto older ones, for use on future classes.

Yeah i agree with the above, weapons aren't the problem the armor is. if i want to level pugilist and lancer while still holding onto my Arcanists gear for when i level conjurer it takes a ton of inventory.

I actually don't see any reason to have more than 1 weapon/piece of armour per class/job, other than when you are spirtbonding and in that case you can keep them in your main inventory.#

Right now there are 21 classes/jobs and 25 slots. (it seems fine to me as long as you don't horde everything)

The only slot that I think requires more space are rings as you need 1 on each hand, in effect meaning double the space, although some rings can be used across more than one class.

Move them to your retainer until you need them ? :S

The issue as I see it is that the armoury chest is going to help allow you to manage AF gear and end game gear also. The simple reality that I need to throw out a weapon every time I upgrade seems a bit ridiculous to me. You can spiritbind them to make material later but this is often not something I want to deal with while leveling through a class but may want to return to at a later time. Space is already extremely limited if you decide to play every single class anyway especially retainer space if you are stocking crafting materials. I know I like to hold onto cosmetic items sometimes as well, it just seems like a waste that the armoury chest cant be used to facilitate this. Also its nice to be able to store a couple higher level upgrades for the class you are leveling especially since character will likely be making a large portion of their gear.

FWIW you can keep both AF and event gear in your armoire in the INN.

Although it's possible to level every class, you can't do it all at the same time and even when you are lvl 50 you will only play a few of those jobs regularly.

It's all about prioritising your inventory space around your immediate objectives.

    19 classes -> 19 weapons/tools -> 25 main hand slots
    How it is not enough?

Say you have a level 35 archer and a level 1 pugilist:
If you pick up level 10, 20, and 30 pugilist weapons while leveling the archer you will eventually run out of space. Especially if you also come across weapons for other classes. Like Jinko said though, you should really just prioritize 1 or 2 alternate classes.
