Always love the flaming. Actually, I already have two level 50's from 1.0. Most other jobs I have to at least 20. Hours to get to 10% of a level? Maybe I slightly exaggerated. Consider this though, since I cannot progress past the level 20 content (how a fricking tank cannot get into a queue pop for ifrit is beyond my understanding) the next best thing is to either grind mobs/ work on job specific quests. Can't do the job quests though as those require a group. For someone who has a job and family (other priorities), I want to be able to hop on a game and feel good that a couple hours of play has at least PROGRESSED my character. I literally did nothing for almost 2 hours except run back and forth (choco'd) from place to place to finish quests for a lowsy 3-3.5k xp per completion. Not very thrilling.

No fanboism here I know a bad game when I play a bad game. I put up with 1.0 waiting for 2.0 to be better. If SE doesn't get this right fast then ff14 is over and im not playing though this crud anymore SE made some bad decisions with 1.0 now they are make some bad decisions for 2.0. and they were making bad decisions since 2000 except for ff11. until they made ff11 abyssea. Everything you said I agree with 100%. I was making jokes about this but after 2nd maintenance and still braking after 5 min.... I'm so mad this is rubbish /end rant

Why did they insist on only 3 days of open beta, even when their beta was NOT stable? Seriously their is no excuse for that, the mess we see here today is SE being cheap, lazy, and over-confident with their product during the beta test. Now on launch days where people have paid exclusively for 3 days of early access(only reason i re-bought the game) we have major issues.

1.) Duty Finder broken even after 6hrs of maintenance today
2.) Errors we have seen all too many times in beta p4 (90000 etc)
3.) Major Quest NPCs are broken (talk to an NPC that ports you to a story instance and u r SOL)
4.) World is full, please try again BS (error 1017); really a que is too hard to implement properly?

I hope everyone understands we are using a CLIENT for the game, it STILL ISNT that FULL game..... so there will be lots of things that dont work that did in other betas etc, and if any of you played World Of Warcraft they didnt have a great release either... most of the complaining I see here is those people that get upset when there youtube takes 1min to load.....

I think the problem is MMO releases havent been as bad as they used to be. Its not an understood problem anymore. Since WoW, I havent really been in an unplayable release. Sure, theyd have problems with queues and even a little lag or isolated incidents ... but at least I have never had it where I cant continue and servers go down 2-3 times a day.

It made me laugh when I heard Yoshi P say they're calling the first expansion 3.0, made me think of them remaking the game again alongside 2.0.

Just wait 3.0 Aka FF14 reborn again will be great just wait. just play though 2.0 like we did with 1.0 it will be worth the time

I'm wildly tired of people apologizing for the game because it's the launch of a new MMO.

No. It's the first day of the re-launch. Square has run MMOs before. They've run this MMO before.

Wasn't one of the reasons they shuttered the doors so they could bring it out once again, polished and waxed, and get rid of the poor impressions people had with the original bug filled and problematic launch? Rhetorical, by the way. It was one of the reasons.

They knew exactly the kind of disastrous launch the game had previously, and they just leaped right back into that same pit and no amount of (other players) excusing and apologizing their lack of preparation or planning undoes the kind of impression that leaves with a lot of players.

This. ^ SE has had TWO other MMO's under it's belt(FFXI and FFXIV 1.0).. You would think they would of a been a little more prepared for the bombardment of players logging into their servers. Right? Maybe not? Meh, it's whatever. I worked all day anyways and didn't get to experience the "fun".

^ This! I remember WoW's open beta and launch. Not only did we have to stand in line for hours at the store to buy a copy, both beta and launch were riddled with horrific downtime and lag. 3 hours downtime in an otherwise smooth start under very heavy load for FFXIV ARR? SE is doing just fine. Wish I could say the same for some of its less patient customers.

The game is not even that good.
I really wish they would have just BUILT off of 1.23. They changed a whole lot more than I expected.

Anyways... that's a discussion for another thread, which I will never make, seeing as this was discussed A LOT on the beta forums.
