It's not our fault the game was developed so poorly the first time around, Anyone who got the game to start with, should have the same rights as the users who buy the new edition.

Unless you paid (as in gave them actual money, not just added a payment method) for 90 days between during those specific dates (I want to say January to... July? Or August), you don't have Legacy status, no matter what version of the game you bought, Collectors Edition or not.

Also, the "legacy servers" are just called so because any 1.0 character is a "legacy character". This is not the same as having a Legacy account for participating in the Legacy Campaign. I think it's stupid that they used the same term for both, because it keeps seeming to cause this confusion...

And, really, if you didn't want to at least pay for 90 days of the game, I don't think you can call yourself a "loyal player". If you don't have Legacy status, it means you decided not to pay. You left when things seemed bad. That's the opposite of loyalty, I'd say.

Anyone who bought the game to start with now does not have to pay for a new copy of the game. You can just go on and play. If you bought the Collector's Edition back then, you get the new CE items without having to buy a new copy of that. I think that's fair enough, don't you?

If that is the case, I am pissed and that is BS... I purchased the 1.0 CE, pre-paid for 6 month sub, just because I didn't actively play during those times, I am not marked as legacy, and get jack shit?

On a positive note... looks like all servers are locked anyway, so if you wanted to start over, create a new character, you cant anyway lol

Still pissed about the shaft... no reason 1.0 people who already purchased the game should not be able to play as soon as those who purchased 2.0 - We initially purchased garbage, and are now being shafted for trying to give them a second chance.

I have never, ever heard that all 1.0 users got a reduced sub and early access. The reduced sub has always been a perk of the Legacy Campaign, so it's not something they would have extended to all 1.0 users. Perhaps it was a mistake, or you read something wrong (maybe mixing up Legacy Campaign with the whole "all 1.0 characters are legacy characters" thing I mentioned?).

They didn't actually charge for the game until January, even though you had to add a payment option/method. It has nothing to do with actively playing. It has to do with actively paying. If you actually gave them actual money between January and July, you should probably contact them instead of complaining here, because something went wrong.

No one's being "shafted". People who stuck by the game and paid for it when things were bad instead of bailing out when the subscription fees actually started are being given a little reward (it's three days...). You bought a game that didn't turn out well, and you're being given a chance to try the improved version without having to buy it. No one else does that. Just because you aren't being given something someone else has doesn't mean you're being "shafted". It means they earned something you didn't.
Again, you are able to "give them a second chance" without being forced to buy a new copy of the game. They're saying "we messed that up, so when we fix it up, you don't have to pay us again if you'd like to play again". Maybe it's the bare minimum to you, but you did the bare minimum (by just buying the game, and not paying the sub), so it's what you get. It's still more than a lot of companies would give you.

I read that all 1.0 accounts got EA also. I read all the stuff about legacy perks and all that, and it said that all 1.0 accounts will have EA.

And it makes NOOOO sense that people who were in the beta wouldnt get early access.

I had a 1.0 CE account but my 6 months was before the time period for legacy....I had cancelled my account before the cutoff... AND I was in every step of the beta...

Just seems like total crap that I wouldn't get early access...

So...I thought if you owned the 1.0 collectors edition, you qualified for legacy and early access...

But its saying "no valid service accounts"

and then redirects me to put in a code for pre-order....which i didnt because I was under the impression collectors edition 1.0 holders didnt need to for EA...

You also only get 14 days of game time, instead of 30 days... pretty weak IMO. They should have at least given us the option to say pay $5 and get the preorder items and EA.

I read the same thing, now when I went back to try to re-read this info, the URL is "down"... not cool at all, I am a little upset by this lack of support for 1.0 players.

But seriously, go to the digital pre-order page again, go to the very bottom, there is a link for 1.0 CE holders, that link used to explain how we got free early access, reduced sub fees, etc, now the link is gone!!!

Ya during the beta there was a post about early access that stated 1.0 CE holders would get in as well as anyone who was participating in the beta. But the beta forums were taken down and you cant get to them anymore unless you can find it in google cach.

They are playing shell games, and its bullshit...

Hand over some cash, maybe get into a buggy, error, server locked "Early Access", but first you have to pick the ball under the cup! (There are no balls under any of the cups)

Smoke and mirrors, coming off as a very money hungry "Second change" launch - 1.0 players were given no options post "Legacy" crap. We either wait, or purchase the game all over again. I still want to know why they took down that page that explained 1.0 CE players got free Early Access, among other things...

As Sheva said, these posts are gone, and Beta/1.0 players are getting screwed - not to mention 2.0 players who can get in getting server locks and not able to play with friends - Garbage

That would have been an great option. As it now sits it looks like a CE 1.0 holder who did not have a sub during to designated timeframe is sitting on the sidelines with no option to get in. Before finding this thread I did not understand any of it so thank you all for posting.

Then it took me a while to figure out I had to click the little star to select a character on the these forums to even post a replay -luckily I found a post on another set of SE forums , http://forums.na.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=4895 -I am so confused.
