by any chance do you think this did this alphabetically or by date of pre order?

I am in agreement with SoopaMan 2K about it probably being done by time-zone, if only to fulfill any possible contract/ agreement they may have with each other about operation date, etc.

Simply amazing. I would have been happy with a fix but a full refund also? I'm speechless. Thank you so much. I actually feel guilty now. Kinda feels like stealing from SE. I think I'll leave the $60 on my PSN until FFX/FFX-2 HD comes out just so I can give the money back to SE.

Agreed, not really "guilty" as you said but definitely will use the refund to buy SE game as a kind of support

FML, the moment i received the mail from sony regarding to this issue, i instantly clicked on the link and dl the new copy of FF14 without checking the existing client 1st. after i redeemed the code then only i realized they fixed the bloody error. there goes my free copy of FF14 which i could sell it to my friend...
