No EA for V1.0's?

Slightly wrong, Legacy does not get CE items if they didn't have the 1.0 CE already. There are Legacy with 1.0 Standard.They could of course digital upgrade or get the PS3 CE, but they don't get it automatically.



As did everyone else, and all the pre-order perks for 1.0 were given out when 1.0 released, in 2010. So no, it's quite valid.



Just a warning, and it seems you might already know. Having 1.0 means you have a PC Code on your account already, and you cannot apply the game code you bought to your account if it is PC. Pre-order code works fine however.

So to clarify:

As a 1.0 CE player (but not Legacy) I get the new CE stuff but not the EA? I don't mind since I am at the cottage this weekend. Would be nice for others though.

I find the Tuesday release date weird though.

1.0 Lodestone forums are basically the same as well - It's the same group of people that immediately thinks someone is bitching and feel the need to attack anything that moves.

I am torn about the suggestion myself. I on one hand think that most of these people are likely ones who dropped 1.0 early on. Though that thought should not sway my opinion I am something of a loyalty oriented person and feel its sorta like leaving someone to dry and then coming back when they found gold.

From the completely opinionated approach I think they should have had early access, though from the same approach I do not see 3 days being too drastic. I believe the subscription perks and Items were enough for me and my fellow legacy members who showed loyalty. so outside my personal qualms of loyalty I do think they should have early access. I think anyone who purchased the game should have that right.

1.0 CE pre-order owner here (non legacy), and there's a couple things you guys seem to be forgetting, FF14 1.0 was a defective product it was canceled and recalled (canceled) after plenty of people complained and the company admitted it was a bad product that put to a shame all the FF franchise (really don't need to elaborate more about this, you all know what happened). Thankfully SqE is a honorable company that decided to "fix" the product and offer to their fans a decent rework of the game, and now (thank you SqE i <3 you) we have 2.0.

I couldn't play the game more than a couple weeks after the initial release cause it was near unplayable for me and totally did not deserved the subscription that they were asking at the time, almost 15 euros iirc, i was emailed with the information that i could play for free after a couple months and even that wasn't enough for me to come back to a game that was simply broken and subpar compared with the other on the market.

Is it fair to not give old pre-order players the same perks new pre orders have? big no

No, I think you have issues understanding. As much as people want to think it's the same game, to validate your argument, it's too different to be so.

It's the game I payed money for all those years ago, it's irrational to say it's not. This is a fixed version of that broken version of the game, not a new game. That's why it's called version 2.0.

I pre-ordered the 1.0 CE, I got early access in 2010 for 1.0. I do not, at all, expect them to give it to me now. It's childish to think you deserve it just for buying the game back then.

They spent money on the old awful version of the game and helped support development of the new version, so yes, they do deserve to play the game even if they got a better deal than you. Get over it.

The game is a blur between a new game and a rebuilt game, but the line has been drawn, and it's enough of a new game to invalidate your "wants"

They should have never given it to Legacy either and kept it simply for pre-ordering. It's unfair to add things to Legacy after it's no longer obtainable; people made their decisions then based on the benefits they told everyone about at that time.

Not that three days is a big deal either way, but still.
