I didn't do anything to got refund, it come automatically.
After buying Standard Edition, I just go into the game and sign in. No need to redownload it again.
Yes, frustratingly but unsurprisingly it failed, but it also will not allow me passed the original 'connect account or create account' first page now either.

Sorry my last post was in reply to this- I've tried and it's not successful. Now I cannot get passed the 'connect or create account' page from the beginning.
PSN updates have always been PST based as far as I am aware, at least that has been the case in my experience. So I would wait til 3am est to check if services wiped.
I have been on the phone all day and even spoke to the supervisor (David) They told me; as i spoke to three different people that; one- they knew nothing of this issue, two that it was a glitch on my system from maintenance, and three from the supervisor that the refund was not for Final Fantasy but was a system ghost... Basically no one i spoke to knew anything about why the game didn't work, why i was refunded and said there was no voucher or email message to be expected. Could someone please give me the name of someone you spoke to at PSN that HAD information on this issue.
So to clarify those of us on the Eastern side of good ol Murica wait till 3am to redownload the version of the game we bought first ?
