DPS on Mage weapons?

You care about INT, spellspeed, crit. "Magic damage" is not a stat you get on equipment.

It is a stat on weapons only- it determines auto attack damage (but it might also factor in to spell damage calculations)

What about general spell damage ie Fire 3?

That's what I'm talking about when I say "spell damage calculations." In other words, the magic damage on a weapon does play a role in how strong your spells are.
