Honestly though, asking for hugging/kissing stuff between two characters, I don't see it happening.

FFXIV will not include exclusive content for marriage due to the highly sensitive and equally controversial nature of the whole "Marriage" concept. Because not everyone can take part in the marriage system, it would further ostracize certain members from the community. So I'd say, at least for now, keep it simple.

I think couple emotes, regardless of whether they were just for married couples or anyone, would be neat but they'd be very awkward. I've played 2 games where they had those sorts of emotes and they dont work particularly well when there are different sized characters (particularly with something like 14 where its a sliding scale for the height)

Perfect world allows males to carry females and even kiss them while holding them, that might work better with the height issue, but again there would be complications. I don't see a lalafel being able to pick up a roegadyn, it should be the other way round. Of course, the females in that game are all more or less the same size, all very slender compared to the males which are all huge and muscular.

I'm playing a Hyur male and husband is a female Lallafell.
...I'm kinda horrified at hugging/kissing emotes for this lolol (how does that even work, would he pick her up or bend down? \(^o^)/)

but I think marriages should have some kind of skills..like how in RO you could "summon your spouse" to your location for free!

You beat me to it. Something simple like blow kiss could be done but anything where they interact would be impossible. Imagining male roegadyn and female lalafell married with special romantic emotes is really creepy.

But for laughs I like the idea of males carrying the female in marriages. Male lalafell and female roegadyn riding a tiny little lalafell chocobo. She could pick up the chocobo and run around with it between her legs like those broomstick horses.

Yeah having emotes where huge males kiss the "child" lookalike female characters(lalasomething) is going to be portrayed so well in the western media.
