This is so true, I think alot of people want a easy game is all. With the current system i can solo heal anything in game including all nm'sUh, you don't need to stand perfectly still to auto regen... I don't know where you're getting that.
It took me 1:44 to regenerate 860 MP from nothing. This is without having to sit or rest in any manner like in XI. That is far too high a regen for MP.
As I said, mages already have plenty of tools to easily manage their MP. Melees w/o Siphon MP could use a boost, yes, but what we have is just plain easy mode.
I think mp regen is fine just as it is. It allow disciples of war to get mp back and not worry about choosing our mp costing WS or saving it for a possible cure fights later to lessen downtime. but don't get me wrong their needs to be a balance cause it does seem very easy mode for mages now...
That's good and all, but honestly, they need to cut the crap with this casual MMO solo stuff... WHY would you pay a montly payment if your gonna solo everything, aside from talking with othersI like it the way it is right now. The MP only regenerates in Passive Mode, so it makes absolutely no difference during battle, and it doesn't regenerate fast enough to make any kind of a difference in a situation where you're fighting multiple mobs in a row. (You still have to rely on your MP skills in those situations.)
The only thing MP regenerating really brought to the table, is a practical means of allowing DoM to solo\duo - and allowing them to rest at certain intervals in larger parties much like mages could in FFXI. I really don't want to see them mess with this, as it was a long overdue feature the game needed.
If anything, higher ranked\tiered spells should just cost more MP later in the game.
Believe it or not, most people don't play MMOs so they can be forced into groups. I don't know about you, but 80% of my PUGs in XI barely spoke with each other, if at all. Most of my fun and chatter came from my linkshell, as did most of my in-game friends.
Plus, without forced grouping, people who don't play regular hours can still solo some exp instead of having to deal with groups like the JP ONRY folks.

People soloed even in FFXI, which was quite honestly a very solo-unfriendly game. People like having options. And just because you're soloing sometimes doesn't mean that you're ALWAYS going to solo in the game. Occasionally you're just not going to have time to form a party, or are just going to crap out on luck trying to find a party.. The best option then is to solo a bit while you wait for some friends to come online or for someone to invite you to their group.
Like for behests, you are pretty much FORCED to party with people participating or you won't get the full sp and people don't complain about having to group as it's right in your face... and this is a completely different game than xi, so why not?
But this game is for you to be able to rank up to 50 with solos... I always see people soloing doblyns, thank goodness they raised theyre difficulty a littlePeople soloed even in FFXI, which was quite honestly a very solo-unfriendly game. People like having options. This describes my 7 years of ffxi. I also hated being forced into the whole party thing. Don't get me wrong this game should be the most rewarding for parties BUT should allow other options. I hated when i only had a few hours to play and knew there was no point in playing my favorite game.
They still can run out of MP with chain pulling mobs in a grind group.
I think you're missing the point.
Soloing will always take longer than grouping, usually a lot longer. But eliminating the option for people to solo altogether causes a lot of problems, and honestly fixes none. People will group when given the option usually, so I'm not sure why you care anyway.
