I got an EU code via email and eventually saw a post with instructions on beating the Error3. Went to http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ and before clicking the flag, pushed F5 (not sure why, but it was in the instructions lol), and logged in and then selected region flag. Put in 18 digit code, again (after I had already successfully gotten an inapplicable EU code in email). My 18 digit code still worked and I was redirected to a page with NA 20 digit code. That 20 digit code worked (however I also received ANOTHER email with the incorrect EU code) and I called SE NA customer support this morning and confirmed my EA registration. About 18 hours after I successfully registered I got an email (the fifth one) confirmation with the same NA 20 digit code I used the night before.

Edit: I received four emails in total with the same incorrect EU code because I was spamming the pre order code page without ever being redirected to the 20 digit code page. It was after I got those four emails that I read the post on the beta forums with the instructions for beating the error3, which was the only thing I had ever seen when spamming the 18 digit code page. When I followed the instructions I was redirected the first time to the 20 digit code page.

First night i recieved incorrect 20 digit code. Second night i double checked all squeenix account info was set to NA, was logged into my account.

Then i simply re-entered 18 digit code, took me directly through with no error this time to a page with a 20 digit code in NA, i just followed hyperlink on that page and finished it up from there. Try starting over with your 18 digit code and see if that doesnt give you a new 20 digit NA code

Done that many times already, with 3 different browsers and 2 different computers. Always gives the same wrong code.

I think F5 makes sure you're logged on. One of the reasons error 3 comes up is because during the first few days the site was up, it sometimes doesn't keep you logged in, so when you refresh you'll notice if it's logged you out or not.
