Hello all.

Nice to see some English speakers sticking around. I, and a few other English speakers who live in Japan have a bilingual LS (http://nocturne.guildwork.com/) and we encourage other bilingual players to apply. Most of our (small) member base belong to the same Japanese FC and we are able to sponsor applications as such but require the applicant be able to communicate in Japanese coherently as not to cause strife during events.

Sorry for the vaguely-related question, but I don't know who to ask - is there a way for English client users to flip between English and Japanese text input in game? I can do it in PSO2 no problem, but when I try to use the same method in FFXIV (language bar->Japanese) nothing happens. Any ideas to help me communicate with Jp players directly rather than through Auto Translate?

I switch keyboard layout (alt+shift) between rus, eng and jap. It work.

If you're talking about on a windows computer, first make sure you install the jp ime. By default, it'll be in english mode. You'll want to alt-left shift to get to the right input (if you're like me and have more than 2). For hiragana input, do alt-~ (hold alt and press the tilda key) hiragana mode. FFXIV isn't like ffxi where all the input are managed by the program. It looks like it'll accept just about any text the system can handle.

With that said, ffxi crashed when I tried chinese. Like to try it in chinese on ffxiv. ^^

Hi everyone! I am a Legacy 1.0 player looking forward to getting back to playing ffxiv. I have a level 50 Paladin and various other jobs leveled up. Hi, fairly low level here. I didn't get to play much during 1.0 so let my account go dormant after the free period ended. I regret not playing long enough to get one of the yukatas.

I'd like to thank whoever it was in the last stage of beta that raised me after I fell to my death off a cliff. I landed just outside of the dry-docks near Limsa.
It's a very high cliff... I wrongly assumed it wouldn't let me run off it.

I suppose it is the purpose of some people in life to serve as a grim warning to others.
