You don't log into the game to redeem the code.

Enter the pre-order code on your PlayStation®3 console, using either of the following methods:

・PS3 system [XMB（X Media Bar)] → [Account Management] → [Redeem Codes]
・PS3 system [XMB（X Media Bar)] →[PlayStation®Store]→[Redeem Codes]

Though if the PSN is still down for maint you might not be able to right now.

You enter your code there and you get another code e-mailed you that sets you up for Early Access.

Well, just to try and see if they honored our old codes I attempted my 1.0 code and was a big NOPE NO WAY.

Ok whatever. The website is obviously not working for many people so I was just trying to point out another possibility. Even though the other path given looks like it is not functional either it might be fixed if people made them aware it is broken.
