    THIS IS WHATS GOING ON
The point that most people are making is that, this isn't occuring even after we link the accounts. I've launched the PS3 version, gone through the whole linking process, watched as the mog cap and cait sith minion was manually added to my 1.0 service account that included the Windows version, the windows beta, and the PS3 beta, and yet I still can only log into the Ps3 version and not the PC version. Using the same credentials for each version, I get a completely different message(wait until EA or no active service account).

    A MONTH AGO:

    player asked:
Let's say I bought the old game, and never received Legacy status. If I want to get early access on the PC, all I have to do is pre-order a copy of the new version right? If I buy the PS3 version instead, does that mean I have to play on PS3 during the early access period?

    MOD hvinire responded:

As long as you pre-order, the PS3 version can be linked to your pre-existing FFXIV account to play early on the PC version.

This will also allow you to play on either the PS3 or PC with the same service account. However, you won't be able to log in with both at the same time. As long as this isn't a problem, you should be fine purchasing the PS3 version.

Logging into the Same Account on both Windows and PlayStation 3

It is possible to play with the same account on both Windows and PlayStation 3 platforms. Customers who own a copy of FFXIV for Windows and wish to use their account on the PlayStation 3 version will need to purchase a copy of the PlayStation 3 version. It will then be possible to use your characters on either platform by tying your existing service account to the PlayStation 3 version upon launching it for the first time. Similarly, customers who own a copy of FFXIV for PlayStation 3 and wish to use their account on the Windows version will need to purchase a copy of the Windows version. However, please note that your account will only be able to log into one platform at a time.

    * * * * *

Okay let's break it down here:

Do you own a copy of the Windows version of Final Fantasy XIV... as in You have it in your hands, you paid for it, you registered it to your SE account, it's yours? If you just Downloaded P4 client from the website you do not OWN a copy of XIV, Windows or PS3. You do not have a valid Service account for Early Access on that platform.

Okay now let's say yes, you have ordered a copy of the game and you've registered that copy (PS3 or Windows) and you want to play on your other platform (the one where you also OWN a copy of the game. so you own two copies of the game.). When you launch the game for the first time on the platform where you own the game, not when you sign in, and get a greyed out button, that's not launching. When you LAUNCH the game, you will be prompted to link the account that you launched to your other platform account that you must also OWN.

1.0 folks: If you are not legacy, you do not qualify for Early Access on the PC until you link your account. Which means you don't have a valid service account on your PC until you launch PS3 for the first time.

If you own a Preordered copy of FFXIV for PS3, you will not be able to play on Early access on the PC until you also purchase a copy of the game on PC (Physical or downloaded) Why? Because the client you got downloaded from P4 on your PC is not owned by you and it's not registered on the Square Enix Account Management system.

I THINK I have this right.
But i bought the PSN Preorder and the PC preorder version, so the early access y it's for both platforms under my account.
But when i try to check in the PS3 says No valid or active service account is available to play, however in my pc not.

    That's my problem.

Yeah, my guess is that they haven't rolled over accounts, yet as I have heard that some legacy players that didn't pre-order are getting the same issue when launching on the PC.

I'm not panicking yet. It actually might be good if my Ps3 got a little use. I would like something official before EA or before I enter my PS3 CE code in on the 27th.

Aaaaah so that's what it's sounding like. If even Legacy can't log in without a code then they may be in the process of rolling accounts over.

But if that's the case, they need to let people know lol. For the sake of their Customer Service Reps at least. XD

Did you get a preorder code for EA?

Did you put in the preorder codes on both accounts?

On the PC version yes, on the ps3 version, it's a preorder from psn sotre, so no, but it clearly says early access here "PlayStation Network" > "Account Management" > "Transaction Management" > "Services List"

@MrSativa - Oh I completely agree with you. That was why I purchased the PS3 version also. It would really make absolutely no sense for them to make us purchase what we already have for EA. Being able to play out in the living room in my comfy chair when I'm not busy is a bonus I was willing to pay for, but I'll try and get that money back if they don't come through with it the way it was explained by the mod.

Can you put in a PS3 preorder code into the Preorder code website? The reason I'm asking that is because maybe that's what you need to do. The people who put in their preorder codes in that site aren't getting that "No Account" message on the platforms that they put them in on, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.
