This does seem like a rather large 'oops.' All they'd need to do is put in an NPC to let you exchange the male/female item for the other version.

Yep, it's also why I keep bumping the thread. (Which I really shouldn't be, but the beta forums one got deleted).
It really is as simple as what they're doing for the NPC that exchanges the materials at the Calamity Salvager for a dream tunic.
"Lady's Yukata" > "Lord's Lukata"
I had this problem as well, so I am with you and here's hoping they'll figure out a way =)
I didn't play long enough to get any seasonal items, but I am a little shocked they haven't made this possible (yet..?). I love me some event items, I'd be a sad panda if I couldn't wear my old items due to a remodeling my character.
You'll have at least one chance to change your character again. If it bothers you that much you could change the gender back to what it was...
It doesn't seem like something SE would implement but who knows.
They implemented a way to hand in your ingredients for your dream tunic in exchange for a full-dream tunic set, so I can't really see why not.
Based on the fact the Calamity Salvager was offering exchanges already I thought it would be nice to offer this exchange too.
I already stated I wasn't choosing my gender for my character based on seasonal gear, but based on the feedback I got on the original thread about other 1.0 players who had encountered the same problem, it would seem a waste to just toss it away.
I agree with you, Shioban. This is an oversight that could be fixed very easily if it's just pointed out to the Devs.
I submitted a bug report about this when I noticed that I was locked out of my swimsuits after my gender swap. I'm a little bummed. Hopefully they'll fix this in the near future.
Never hurts to ask - hope they are able to do it!
I never though of doing a bug report during the beta. Hopefully this thread will do instead for now.
If the devs don't respond I'll try a bug report.
