Seasonal Items : Locked Gender!

I hope there's at least new seasonal rewards for people who already own all the 1.0 swimwear gear.

The swimwear for this year has another design as the one from 2011

I'm a little bit sad that previous years' items are available again this year. I think it adds a nice bit of exclusivity to your character to show "I was here at so and so date".

I know we're getting new stuff as well, but I kinda like being a special snowflake and having stuff you can't get again (like dalamud horn, white ravens etc).

(Fully support the gender change of previous years' gear though, that was obviously an oversight)

Huh, in my excitement I almost missed that. Really, the same swimsuits and yukatas -- not even recolors? I know we saw new swimsuits, so does this mean the new summer event coming up will let us get the old ones too?

As much as I like the old event gear, and will miss it if it cannot be exchanged, this is somewhat disappointing and sets a precedent I do not like. While I fully support new characters being able to get fun event gear, I don't like the idea of the same exact items being available more than once. It makes the gear seem less special, and is also a letdown for people that already have it as they have less to do in the event than someone who doesn't have any of it.

It will be a nice way to replace gender-locked items on characters that have gotten a gender swap . . . but I'd much rather just have an NPC that allows for exchanges, like the Calamity Salvager currently does for seasonal item materials.

It's not junk, as you can see many people like and appreciate the swimwear and other costumes from the seasonal events. Unfortunately for YOU buddy, the Goobbue Mount was exclusive in version 1.0 and cannot be obtained anymore :\ I will wave to you if I see you in the game on my goobbue mount with my junky swimwear on laughing

But Goobbue is not gender specific. And you would need a Goobbue first to exchange it for another Goobbue.

I'm for an exchange NPC. And it is not only the swim wears, but also the yukatas are gender specific.
