Because the way its handled right now is dumb. And to be frank, I never cared for gear being damaged in any MMO. Its one of the main reasons I refused to play WoW and stuck with FFXI.

Thank you! Which mean that SE should fix'ed the way Repair system is made, maybe less repair materials type needed to repair items! That way is more hassle free! For me it's the amount of different repairmaterials that's doing it for me. I carry around 15 to 20 materials at all times just to be able to repair my own and my husbands gear. It's clogging up so much room. Maybe something like repair kits could be implemented like leather repairkit for ranks 1~20, 21~40 etc. this would be a huge help already. Crafters could make these kits or they could be bought from the respective guilds and players could carry them with them for ease.

I do not like the repair/durability system at all. I would much rather they completely remove it. I doubt this will happen, but I would at least like to play an 8-12 hr grinding session non-stop before I even need to be concerened about the gear damage status. Then I wouldn't mind so much putting my gear up overnight to get it repaired. I relaize the durability is not as much of an issue now, but honestly if I have to worry about it every couple of hours and if it takes me longer than 5 seconds to get my gear repaired I am being overly inconvienienced. So it need not be removed, if they can just make it more convienient. Two things could help with this:
1. Let us get a full day of gear use (approx 8 hrs)before needing to worry about gear damage.
2. Let PCs be able to repair gear that is equiped.
Hey, if the NPC can figure it out, why cant players.

The "repairs requested" icon on the bazar solved any kind of issue that could exist with repairing gear, while retaining the (very positive) interaction between crafters and adventurers.
Also, repairing is a money sink, and this game needs MORE money sinks, not less.
So no. There's no need to get rid of the system and you can pretty much bet your whole yearly wages that it won't be removed. Tell'em your local brooker gave you a safe bet.

I really don't give a damn about the interaction with the crafters. Gear gets damaged way to fast. It should take atleast several days before you even need to worry about it. My shit hits 50% in less then a few hours. Then I have to sit in town hoping some jackass will repair my stuff, or pay a ridiculous amount to have the npc fix it to 75%.The "repairs requested" icon on the bazar solved any kind of issue that could exist with repairing gear, while retaining the (very positive) interaction between crafters and adventurers.

The system either needs to go away completely or have an extreme revision to it. As of right now, ITS DUMB AS HELL.

Are you using gear thats way above your level?I really don't give a damn about the interaction with the crafters. Gear gets damaged way to fast. What you give a damn about isn't necessarily what's good for the game. And in a MMORPG interaction is good for the game.
Ah, old dear demands "Because I say so!"The system either needs to go away completely or have an extreme revision to it. As of right now, ITS DUMB AS HELL.
I wouldn't be surprised.
If SE decides to stick with the repair system where crafters have to use mats, please at least have that required mat be something that the repairer can make~ there are times when i think i can fix something for someone, but then realize i that i not only lack the mat but I can't even make it.

Even though I hate it and no amount of saying it promotes interaction or is needed as a gil sink will make me change my mind. I still would like to take the middle ground and repeat what I said earlier:
1. Let me play approx 8 hrs before needing to even worry about gear damage.
2. Let players be able to repair equiped gear.
and now that I think of it.
3. 100% repair from NPC on all gear. It can still be more expensive, but I'd like it for an emergency.......... oh crap noones around to repair moment.

Wow all these threads to get rid of the repair costs and item degradation in favor of EXP/SP loss. I hate to be blunt but come on people. if you find it time consuming to look for someone to repair you gear ask an LS mate or better yet level up a craft so you can repair it yourself. EXP/SP loss is a much bigger punishment than having to fork over some Gil for a repair bill.
