I think the star crafting materials are sold by the npc at Revenants Toll in Mor Dhona. Seem to remember seeing them there. Some still drop from mobs, I had some animal rubber drop from a garlean somethingorother in the garlean camp on the Mor Dhona/ Northern Thanalan border.

Also Potash, Coke and Animal rubber - all required to make 2 star gear. Anyone seen these for sale on a vendor? They used to be for sale at hamlet npc, whish I stocked up on them now.

The tomestone vendor in Mor Dhona trades them for currency.

I think its the NPC in Mor Dhona at Revenant's Toll camp that also give the AF+1 for the tokens we get from exchanging the broken materias.

It was either 125 or 175 stones. I'd imagine we'll probably get 50-100 stones a run looking at how much darklight pieces cost.

blah that's a wrinkle in my plans, was gonna craft 2 full sets then attempt dungeons but sucks that we need to do dungeons to craft them. Hopefully there are other ways to get the Allagan stuff.

Look for the potash and others in wards. People who saved in from 1.0 might be selling. Albeit at high prices.

To be fair, depending on the materia stat caps, the L70 crafted gear could potentially be better than Darklight so it would warrant them taking some time to make. Also, since they are sellable people trying to make some money might pick them up and sell them.

Maybe they will be some sort of rare/high tier reward in new Hamlet Defense-style FATES or something.

I'm kicking myself for selling my Gryphonskin set in 1.0, I really loved that look but my LS needed money for Double Melds to start the relic quest. However once my group starts doing dungeons it shouldn't be too bad to get the items. The stats required for crafting these armor pieces are ridiculously high anyway. I think coming into game on my 1.0 crafting gear I was ~100 stat points away from even trying to attempt them.
