I think the DPS comment may put the nail in the coffin for the VIT vs STR debate for tanks.

Eh, both still have their uses.
STR: Increases melee attack power and the percentage of damage mitigated by block and parry.
VIT: Increases maximum HP.
If you're fighting a boss, such as Ifrit, his Hellfire attack can't be blocked or parried, so you'll want to have more HP in general when he uses it (given you defeat the nails). Personally, I would do about a 50/50 ratio of applying STR or VIT to my stats or when applying materia.
Also, we don't know if there are also hard caps like we saw in 1.0 where you're only allowed so many points in a specific attribute. We know gear has it's own caps, but if our characters themselves cannot break certain caps will also make a difference.
Icons for Summoner and Scholar. Summoner is red like the other DDs. Scholar is green like WHM.
Given the way caps work on gear and that tank gear is usually capped on both anyway, I doubt there's any risk of hitting a soft cap, or that one even exists this time around. As for stats from materia, my gear will have even amounts of both STR and VIT, strictly speaking of attribute points I'm going full STR.Eh, both still have their uses.

calling it, Titan 2 hour will be an earthquake-like attack that can be fully evaded with a perfectly timing jump
Can you dump all your stats at level 50 into one stat, or was it like 1.0 where you could only put roughly 20~ points into one? I didn't test much in Phase 3, so I forgot to check this.Given the way caps work on gear and that tank gear is usually capped on both anyway, I doubt there's any risk of hitting a soft cap, or that one even exists this time around. I hope so, but I think Yoshi-P said something about jumping not being used for anything but aesthetics.
anyone else notice in the screeshots it shows lvl 50 but 14020/562000 towards next level
