New BETA Lodestone Character Search Feature and Privacy

Is this for real? Anyone can see your character in-game. Maybe SE should also add the ability to hide your character in-game as well.

I can see maybe being able to hide your blog posts, but your entire character? That's just dumb.

On topic, I think the Lodestone should definitely have a "private" option for people who don't want their blogs / character information to be made public. Even if they just added a "only visible to friends thing". I mean, I can't think of any kind of internet media that doesn't have such an option so I'm sure they will implement something of the sort if they haven't already.

I hope so too since it's essentially FFXIV: ARR - Facebook Edition. There's a lot of creepers online, so I think any player should have the option to enable certain aspects about themselves as visible or non-visible for this game.

There are already options to hide your friendlist blog and a couple other things. It took you to those options the first time you logged in. Most people probably clicked past them.

As far as hiding your character I don't see the point. Stalkers gonna stalk they will find you in game. If its that much of an issue you should consider changing your character name. Or deal with repeatedly reporting them to SE

Lastly from my observation you can only see people who have logged in and out that are in the same free company as you. This information appears when in game as well. I never saw notices for this that were in just my LS or Friendlist.

Not sure if LS shows up but I can definitely say friendlist does.

Let's hope changing character name for the 4th time works :X
