In all seriousness though, FC housing is amazing and all but I can't wait till we can get our own houses. I want a nice cozy little home to laze about in when I don't feel like doing anything else. Better yet, be able to set up a nice little shop in there. Just hope the pricing is reasonably expensive. Up there but not impossible for an individual.

I'm curious as to how intense the price is. It's going to be huge considering in the live letters Yoshi's main audience was 1.0 players. So since there was a disgusting amount of wealth abound at the end of 1.0; and he seemed pretty 'matter-o-fact' about the price being expensive, I bet only the richest of rich will be able to afford company housing on large plots at first.

I'm rambling, lets just say I'm wicked excited. Also that for my personal house, small or medium will be good enough for me to start with.

I believe from what I have seen that all the plots of land are the same size. You then build your small/med/large sized houses on them. Also from the video in which he showed off the inside of these houses the small house was part of the medium and then expanded into the large. This leads me to believe that you can Upgrade your house when ever the gil presents itself. In the video he specifically shows you the starting small house and how much space it takes up and then continues. By other conversations he mentioned that they are someone modular (towers) you can add to them over time which supports this idea.


TL/DR

Buy your plot, build a small house, upgrade into mansion over time. Every ones equal.

I'm pretty sure I read in an interview recently that for housing you need to get the plot first. There will be S/M/L plot sizes and upgrading your house depends on that. If you buy a M land, and build a S house, then you can upgrade it to M and that's it.

I am interested in a large piece of land w/ a medium house as my goal... but I really need to see dimensions and more importantly price first XD
