Ok I know there was a classic RPG (SNES era maybe) that did that.. just don't remember which.. lol

That game is Seiken Densetsu 3, third game of a series that borrowed the Final Fantasy name for a US release for it's first game.

Have to admit that came to mind because Yoshi-P meets the "single Japanese man goes to Paris" requirement. I doubt he'll save the city and change the lives of five women under his command, but still. :P
