Spfft.. Obviously it'd be an extremely rare drop. And as the stronger he gets, the harder he is to kill which lessens the amount of people who will have a chance at getting that mount. I'm going to make my LS farm him until I get that mount! >:-O
I'm not the one thinking the world will end if defeating Odin rewards the raid that does so with a rare mount. And I'm sure it'll be part of a loot pool. And I'm sure Zantetsuken, Gungnir and some neat pieces of armor would be there as well.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Hell yeah, dude. It's not going to be where everyone is going to have Odin drops. Only the dedicated.. only the strong.

If maybe one person per server could have it then maybe I'd be ok with it, but you know people will cry foul over that. Equal opportunity and all.
If Odin is on a lockout (5 or 7-day), there'll be plenty of timesink involved, even with a 2% drop rate. Could also make it like Rivendare's Deathcharger and make it 0.7% drop rate instead.

I think the funny thing is, if this blog post wasn't posted you wouldn't honestly see requests for Odin's horse as loot from fighting him. (Never mind the fact Yoshida said there won't be real rewards from FATES and we know Odin is a FATE battle.)
The thought has crossed my mind, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Not to mention it gives the mount collectors something to strive for, which is always a good thing.
What I take issue with is the asinine arguments like "b-but 0d1n iz less speshul if u g3t t3h h0rse!".
