I suspect the Lunar Transmitter (which is based on Allagan tech) was reverse engineered to instead of push Dalamud into it's orbit with the larger moon, to bring it back into the gravitational pull of Hydaelyn and ultimately closer with the Lunar Transmitter at Castrum Novum.

I wouldn't call the Garlean war on Primals as saving the world. Garlean magitek weaponry is based on Ceruleum, which is highly concentrated-refined aether (a major reason why Midgardsormr was killed in the explosion with the Agrias, the Ceruleum engines). Primals and their aether consumption go against the Garleans their need for aether to be used in their weaponry. Of course all this is assuming that Primals in other parts of the world are summoned in similar ways (I'd guess they are). Eorzea may be the strongest source of aether on the planet but I'd assume the aether flower of the planet has it's major rivers and tiny tributaries all around the planet...thus giving the Primals a source of 'life' in the other parts of the planet to be appear/be summoned.

Gaius was on a ship watching the Battle of Cartaneau Flats and I highly doubt he knew what was in Dalamud, but he might have had his suspicions. He was too far away to make an impact on Bahamut when the "Blinding White Light" appears. Sadly we won't know what happened after we were teleported away until we log in and see the CS for the first time. But it's most likely not Garlean involvement. After all Gaius was under no obligation to help the VIIth Legion escape their fate with Bahamut...the VIIth Legion was comprised almost entirely by brainwashed Ala Mhigans. The Garleans essentially only lost Ala Mhigans and magitek weaponry. Even though Nael van Darnus was lost prior.

With the arrival of the Elder Primals (not saying Odin was the one to stop Bahamut and not saying it wasn't) Gaius is bringing in the "big dog," Ultima Weapon...which of course I'm sure will be aptly named. The Garleans know what they're doing and know how to deal with the Primals, Nael van Darnus was happy to sit back and let us defeat them so he could harness the aether for Dalamud/Bahamut...Gaius isn't sitting around. He's now backed by 3 more Legatus (probably Legatus but we don't actually know for sure) and Ultima Weapon, along with his highly trained XIVth Legion comprised of Garlean troops and magitek weaponry...whom also still hold Ala Mhigo hostage. Gaius is also the most loyal to the Emperor (having killed 8 or so would be usurpers for Solus Zos Galvus) and it's his turn to deal with the city-states, Primals, and the traitors of the Garlond Ironworks.
Or. Maybe Bahamut was once a person or, even a God, in the world of Eorzea and he wanted more power so in a somewhat FFX style fashion, he sacrificed himself to become an Elder Primal "Bahamut" and to stop him before he could destroy them all he was imprisoned in Dalamud and sent into space. Nael learned of this, and he wanted to excel himself to become a being of extraordinary power and so in order for that to happen he had to have the extra power from Dalamud and had to die so he put up a fight against, you and I, and died and now he became Omega?!?!?!

Lol I'm kidding. Sorta. I think Nael beame Omega through death somehow and I think bahamut's origin is close to that also but not exactly what I said. I threw all that together on the fly.

Dunno I think we might have more problems than just Bahamut or Nael's ego. That masked guy at the end of the trailer didn't sound like the want to come over stay the night and paint his toe nails kinda guy. And that monster that was with him wasn't exactly Fido either, looked like he wanted to play fetch with your face. Can't wait for release already I wanna know!

Well all I am saying is.. In FFX-2 that little boy Shinra turned into something that mimicked his original self. The Omega art mics the looks of both Gaius and Nael. That dude at the end.. might transform into something else along the lines of Omega or Bahamut. Or maybe he IS bahamut.

Nael van Darnus couldn't be Omega/Ultima weapon, we killed him and his aether (life force) was in turn absorbed by Bahamut...and no I wouldn't suggest that Nael is somehow Bahamut. I think the only connection we can make with Elder Primals is that they are somehow both (there may be more Elder Primals) associated with the Allagans...Odin may or may not be the Primal that stopped the Garlean march into the north-east Twelveswood/Black Shroud (I argue it was Ramuh and the Sylph) which if he was the one who's presence made the Garleans halt, then he appeared before the Battle of Silvertear Skies and the release of the Primals. And was around for the Autumn War between Ala Mhigo and Gridania with the aid of Ishgard, Ul'dah, and Limsa Lominsa...always searching for a worthy opponent, someone who was sent away before they could do battle maybe? Oh the speculation.

Definitely, he's either an Ascian or an associate with them like Travanchet (who may or may not have been an Ascian) or a Paragon...since of course we have no idea who or what the Paragons are their intentions with teaching the Beastmen to summon their Primal. But I'm probably 90% leaning toward Ascian compared to 10% for Paragons. Ascians definitely seem the darker of the two, Paragons may have taught the Beastmen to summon for their own good whether it's against the Garleans or the Ascians.

Sooo much speculation. Its time for the game to come out. I was leaving for work the other day and my bf caught me off guard and I tried to smack him with my shield and slash him with my sword...then I realized it was just my purse on my arm and my keys in my hand and his eyes weren't reb orbs. To much Dark Souls , its time to move on.....

So the "Judges" of the Gar-lean Empire will become weapons of mass-destruction? Interesting and could soon to be foretold.

I never could get Emerald or Ruby weapon down, super hard!

Imagine we will need an alliance to take these guys down, piece by piece, limb from limb. Weapona as big as "SIN"(from FFX).
