I think my reading comprehension skill went up reading all this.
Ooh, how many skill up points you get?
I've been trying to cap mine for a while, but these forums don't always help. D=
If people continue to discuss and post their opinion, obviously the thread isn't exhausted, and more people want to express their opinion and discuss about it. The fact that Square Enix indirectly responded doesn't mean that people can't express their approval or disapproval of their policy and argument it.It may not be, but to fan the flames and continue to post in the thread when the discussion had more or less ended is to be a troll. You aren't saying anything new, you're merely repeating your argument. Whoever you may have convinced is already convinced, and whomever hasn't been convinced isn't likely to be. Be mature, do the right thing, and let it lie.
Disagreement doesn't necessarily mean "flames", and there haven't been "flames" in the past few pages (besides what you initiated with your "don't discuss in a discussion forum!" post). There have been people disagreeing and agreeing with each other and with SE, and posting their argument, which is perfectly legitimate, and perfectly within the rules and purpose of this forum.
This forum's primary purposes are discussion and offering feedback, which exactly is what people in this thread (the ones that aren't spamming cake or acting like self elected mods) are doing, and it isn't your task to decide when such discussion and feedback should end or when the topic has been covered enough.
I'm sorry to have to break it to you, but posting something you don't agree with doesn't equate to trolling. May want to get to terms with the idea.I'm not a self elected moderator, and I'm not moderating (though I certainly can use the post report function). However, i have every right to state how I feel about what you're doing, which is trolling, which I know because I fell for it.
As a matter of fact, your post falls very nicely within the by-the-book definition of "trolling":
"In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."
It's evidently an extraneous and off-topic message with the primary intent or disrupting normal on-topic discussion. Unfortunately, I fell for it.
Which is why they can simply skip the thread, and you can as well. No one holds anyone at gunpoint to read this thread or any other. As for adding to the topic, your latest posts have added nothing either. As I said, you're merely repeating your original argument. When you're adding nothing to a thread, that's when the discussion is essentially over. Those "spammy displays of cake" should have been an obvious sign to you that people are tired of reading the same stuff post after post.
What you're doing is pretty clear. You're simply trying to suffocate a differing (but perfectly legitimate) opinion with generic and false "trolling" accusations. Old forum trick that you seem to use very liberally.
This is why I won't respond to you further unless you go back to the topic at hand. If you don't have any intention to, I'd encourage you to ignore the thread, as discussion doesn't get any benefit from off-topic posts made with the clear intent of disrupting on-topic debate.

That couldn't possibly make me happier. This is why I won't respond to you further unless you go back to the topic at hand.
There isn't any discussion or on topic debate going on. There is pretty much only you and the occasional other person bumping the thread without adding anything to it while you continue to make a mountain out of a molehill. I admit that this post doesn't really add anything to it either, but I thought I might inform you of the time you're wasting.as discussion doesn't get any benefit from off-topic posts made with the clear intent of disrupting on-topic debate.

I think two weeks free is perfectly fine.
(WHAT? WE'VE RUN OUT OF CAKE)
What a load of bs. If you and all the other trolls would just stop posting pointless comments like the above and pictures that add nothing to the topic this thread would already be on a page where it would get far less hits. So thanks for the bump!!That couldn't possibly make me happier.

Again it's not about freebies or players who already bought collector's edition and anyone that IS ALREADY GETTING BONUSES, it's about those that DO NOT.
You call Abriael entitled and yet all he cares about is that this game gets the start and exposure it deserves. Those of you not understanding this are all effectively painting yourselves in a corner. Do you not want a healthy population growth? Do you not want people to give this game a real shot?
The two weeks 'free' wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't been already told it would have been a month, the relaunch was supposed to be treated like it was the original 'real'
game launch. That kills every argument that beta phase 4 combined with the first 2 weeks is enough 'free time'.
AGAIN, because I'm going to need to repeat myself over many times before it sinks in, it's not really about PLAYING FOR FREE, those of us here have already spent hundreds of dollars on this game we don't care! We want to make sure people who left and may come back to try the game in it's new form gets the same hard look at it as we all have and hopefully stay with us.
Let's not get into this again. We had people quoting documents that literally said one thing while claiming they said something else. It was nonsense and an affront to reason. Nobody could post a link to anything SE said that made the claim you just did.
At this point, my opinion is that people heard "free trial period" and assumed 30 days. I admit that I had assumed that, but I cannot find anything from SE that actually gives a time period for v1 customers' new trial period after launch.

Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
Where the hell did it come from? Because I swear I saw it on the forums, and I've seen it repeated many times over and NO ONE on the community team corrected us???.............Nobody could post a link to anything SE said that made the claim you just did.

A bit of an oversight and largely redistributed myth that's gone unchecked for over a year isn't really a good thing.![]()
