It doesn't really say it was for 2.0. It just says it would be for PC version. I could be wrong but i think that's what it's referring to in this case.

Fixed that for you, as you were omitting some facts from the quote.
Now, if that is true, and if timeline is also true, the timeline's referenced free play occurs before launch.
That's a pretty distinct difference, rendering these 2 windows of free play time as unrelated.

It clearly states that it's after the completion of the 2.0 client. It doesn't make the slightest sense to use a failed game in order to promote a completely different one. The roadmap also clearly specifies "version 2.0 free trial period".
Absolutely nothing in that part of Hvinire's post hints in any shape or form to preorder bonuses. He's talking about people that will purchase the game and people that owned 1.0. Preorder status is not even mentioned, and the free month is not in any shape or form associated with preorders.Fixed that for you, as you were omitting some facts from the quote.

You may want to stop "fixing" people's posts when all you're doing is misrepresenting them and a moderator's quote to boot

True, It does say:
"Post-January 2013 – Version 2.0 client (PC and PlayStation®3 system) goes on sale
- Free trial period ends" (after launch of 2.0)
If so, a shame if they forgot or are just not following through.
Whether they forgot, or they decided not to go with it, or they simply worded it badly, there are bound to be unhappy people. As much as some seem to be intent in minimizing the problem for some reason I fail to understand.

I'll be happy to dissect that for you. Please, feel free to tell me what parts of my post below are inaccurate, and why.
FFXIV:ARR includes 30 free days of playtime with purchase for new accounts.
As in, the bonus included when you purchase ARR. A completely unrelated topic.
However, even though players who own FFXIV Version 1.0 will receive FFXIV:ARR for free, this does not include the 30 free days of play.
As in, "the" bonus mentioned above. There is no reference to any other perks, merely the purchase exclusive bonus.

It does not say "after". You added that. It is a single timeframe with two things listed as bullet points. It is not contrary to reason that they occur simultaneously.
You seriously don't know the difference between "preorder" and "purchase"?Oh really, now?
I'll be happy to dissect that.

Preordering means booking a product before its release, some outlets require full payment, and some just a portion (normally five bucks/euros in the case of Gamestop). Preorders can in most cases also be canceled.
Purchase means buying the product, paying full price, or resolving the preorder (if you preordered) and paying what's left of the price, at or after release.
Hvinire is talking about purchase, not preorder. People that purchase ARR are going to get 30 days of gameplay whether they preordered the game or not. Preordering the game grants entirely different bonuses and is a completely separate issue.
Seriously, that's the basics of the basics.![]()

Open beta is everyone's free period.
People who buy the game for the first time get the 30 days free WE ALL GOT when we purchased the game initially.
Quit complaining.
We'll take it into consideration.™
